Objectives: Embolic Stroke of Undetermined Source (ESUS) is a distinct stroke entity that disproportionately affects young adults. We sought to describe characteristics, workup and outcomes of young adult ESUS patients who underwent thrombectomy, and compare outcomes to those reported in different age groups.
Materials And Methods: Young-ESUS is a multicenter longitudinal cohort study that enrolled consecutive patients aged 21-50 years at 41 stroke centers in 13 countries between 2017- 2019.
Objective: This study evaluated the associations of perfusion imaging collateral profiles with radiographic and clinical outcome in late presenting, non-reperfused patients in the DEFUSE 3 clinical trial.
Methods: Non-reperfused patients in both treatment arms were included. Baseline ischemic core, Tmax >6s, and Tmax >10s perfusion volumes were calculated with RAPID software; infarct volumes obtained 24 hours after randomization were manually determined from DWI or CT.

Objective: To assess the feasibility of unsupervised home-based use of a virtual reality device (Smart Glove) for hand rehabilitation post stroke.
Design: Prospective single-arm study consisting of a 2-week run-in phase with no device use followed by an 8-week intervention period.

Objective: We aimed to report a novel case of hyperacute computed tomography (CT) perfusion imaging abnormalities in artery of Percheron infarction.
Methods: We described a case of a 74-year-old man who presented acutely to the emergency room with witnessed sudden onset altered level of consciousness.
Results: Although initial hyperacute CT brain imaging was reported as normal, subsequent magnetic resonance imaging revealed bilateral paramedian thalamic infarction.
Rho guanine nucleotide exchange factor (RGNEF) is a 190kDa RNA binding protein (RBP) that also contains a Dbl/PH domain capable of RhoA activation. Consistent with a key role in the pathogenesis of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), RGNEF forms pathological neuronal cytoplasmic inclusions in degenerating spinal motor neurons. To further understand the role of RGNEF in the stress response, we first observed that the expression of RGNEF is upregulated in murine spinal motor neurons following distal sciatic nerve injury.

Smooth muscle cells in the intestines, urinary bladder, and arteries have been shown to express NGF. To address whether enhanced NGF production among these different organ systems stimulates comparable patterns of sympathetic collateral growth, we generated transgenic mice that express NGF under the control of the smooth muscle alpha-actin promoter.
