The phytohormone abscisic acid (ABA) plays a role in stresses that alter plant water status and may also regulate root gravitropism and hydrotropism. We show that exogenous ABA significantly altered the HCO uptake of Chamydomonas reinhardtii in a light-intensity-dependent manner.
