The paper presents an analysis of the filler's effect on the machining process and on changes in the thermomechanical properties of polymer composites based on aluminum chips. Composite research samples with a polymer matrix in the form of polyamide 6 were made by the pressing method. Comparative studies were carried out on the changes in thermomechanical properties and structure of the obtained molders with different filler contents and different fractions after the machining process.

Composites based on a polyethylene matrix with 5, 10, and 15 wt% fly ash from hard coal combustion content were examined. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy with attenuated total reflectance (FTIR-ATR) was used to identify characteristic functional groups present in the chemical structure of polyethylene and the composites based on its matrix.

In this paper, the authors present the test results of selected fuels of different compositions: hard coal, coal sludge, coke waste, sewage sludge, paper waste, biomass waste and polymer waste. The authors conducted a proximate and ultimate analysis of the materials and mercury content in them and their ashes.

Both types of specimens were obtained by injection molding. X-ray diffraction examinations were performed on the materials obtained to determine the effect of the addition of the fillers used on the degree of crystallinity of the composites.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFNowadays, the dynamic development of the entire market of composite materials is noticeable, which is very often associated with the need to use waste or recycled materials in their production. In the process of producing composites themselves, the easy possibility of shaping their mechanical and thermomechanical properties becomes apparent, which can be a big problem for materials with a homogeneous structure. For the tests, samples made of a combination of acrylic-phenolic resin with fine aluminum and brass chips were used.

This is extremely important not only from the point of view of the wide use of plastic products in the industry, but also their thermal utilization. The present study deals with the aspect of the utilization of waste polyethylene (HDPE) as a matrix in composites with filler in the form of cement at 5 and 10%.

The main purpose of choosing this type of modification and the materials used was the possibility to use it in industrial settings. The modification process was conducted for a very wide range of modifier additions (rubber) per 100 g LHE.

During exploitation, various external forces work on the pipeline, which cause its deformation. In the paper, numerical analysis and experimental investigations of polyethylene pipe deformation at different external load values (500, 1000, 1500, and 2000 N) were performed.
