Melatonin (MLT), a neuromodulator mainly acting through two G-protein coupled receptors MT and MT, regulates many brain functions, including circadian rhythms, mood, pain and sleep. MLT and non-selective MT/MT receptor agonists are clinically used in neuropsychiatric and/or sleep disorders. However, the selective roles of the MT and MT receptors need to be clarified.

Unfortunately, since traditional restriction enzyme based methods for constructing such vectors are sequence dependent, their construction is often difficult and not amenable to mass production. Here we describe a non-sequence dependent Gateway recombination cloning system for the rapid production of novel lentiviral (pLEG) and retroviral (pREG) vectors.
