Background: We aimed to comparatively analyze nasal projection and rotation changes in patients that underwent secondary cleft rhinoplasty with a columellar strut graft (CSG) or septal extension graft (SEG).
Methods: Thirty-three patients were randomly divided into two groups. Preoperative, intraoperative (immediate postoperative), postoperative 1-, 6- and 12-month profile view pictures were analyzed.
Background: To describe the role and benefits of intraoperative sonographic (US) guidance in intracavitary brachytherapy of cervical cancer.
Methods: The data of 142 patients who received tandem-based intracavitary brachytherapy for cervical cancer between January 2010 and June 2015 were retrospectively reviewed. US guidance was carried out for tandem selection and appropriate application.
Background/aim: The aim of the current study was to assess the accuracy of cardiac output (CO) measurements obtained by the Nexfin finger cuff method as compared with the FloTrac/Vigileo and echocardiography methods in coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) patients.
Materials And Methods: First-time elective CABG patients were prospectively enrolled in this study and divided into three groups according to CO measurement method. CO measurements were performed simultaneously by three different contributors and were collected by the fourth one 24 h postoperative in the intensive care unit (ICU).
Introduction: We compare and evaluate the safety, efficacy, and short-term outcomes of the new GreenLight XPS 180W (GL-XPS) laser system with the former generation GreenLight HPS 120W (GL-HPS) system for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in a prospective nonrandomized single-centre study.
Methods: From May 2012 to June 2013, 161 consecutive patients with lower urinary tract symptoms secondary to BPH were included: 88 patients were treated with the GL-HPS system and 73 were treated with the GL-XPS system. The perioperative variables International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS), quality of life (QOL), and maximum flow rate (Qmax) were recorded at baseline, at one month and 6 months.
Acute herpes zoster (AHZ) causes postherpetic neuralgia (PHN) in 48-75% of patients. Nerve blocks performed in the acute phase of HZ may treat the pain and prevent PHN development. Here, we present pain relief with modified van-Lint block in two cases with AHZ involving vesicles on the traces of the supraorbital and supratrochlear nerves.

February 2007
A 63-year-old man with severe coronary artery disease and occlusion of aortic arch branches presented with dizziness, syncope and unstable angina. He underwent a combined surgical procedure of aorto-bicarotid bypass and off-pump myocardial revascularization. The operation was successful and he had no complications during 11 months of follow-up.

Abnormal LV systolic function places patients at greater risk for developing LCOS after isolated CABG. In patients with this form of ventricular function impairment, prolonged QRSd is associated with adverse hemodynamic effects.

Methods: Exogenous administration of melatonin not only facilitates the onset of sleep but also improves its quality. A prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study was performed in 66 patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
