The Role of Cyclin d1 in Radiotherapy Resistance of Advance Stage Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma: A Systematic Review.

Objective: One of the biggest therapy challenges for nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) is still radioresistance.  The radioresistance in NPC is thought to be caused by cyclin D1 overexpression.  The purpose of this study was to determine how cyclin D1 contributes to radiation resistance in NPC.

Economic Evaluation of COVID-19 Screening Tests and Surveillance Strategies in Low-Income, Middle-Income, and High-Income Countries: A Systematic Review.

BACKGROUND Economic evaluation of the testing strategies to control transmission and monitor the severity of COVID-19 after the pandemic is essential. This study aimed to review the economic evaluation of COVID-19 tests and to construct a model with outcomes in terms of cost and test acceptability for surveillance in the post-pandemic period in low-income, middle-income, and high-income countries. MATERIAL AND METHODS We performed the systematic review following PRISMA guidelines through MEDLINE and EMBASE databases.

Hybrid learning as alternative approach to improve Indonesian medical students' attitude towards clinical skills during COVID-19 pandemic.

Purpose: Hybrid learning has been chosen as an alternative method in the conduction of clinical skill lectures during coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic since students need to learn skills applied in emergency situations. This study aims to analyze students' attitudes between hybrid and online learning methods.

Methods: A non-randomized study was conducted between hybrid group (HG) and online group (OG) on three courses (intravenous [IV]-line insertion, nasogastric tube [NGT] insertion, and neonatal resuscitation).

An atypical lipomatous tumor of the hypopharynx, a unique entity? A rare case report.

Introduction: Liposarcomas are thought to be the most prevalent kind of soft tissue sarcoma in adults. A well-differentiated liposarcoma that has a higher incidence of a local recurrence following surgical excision is referred to as an atypical lipomatous tumor. The incidence are extremely rare in which <1 % of head and neck sarcoma cases.

Risk Factors Associated with Nasopharyngeal Cancer Incidences in Indonesia: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Objective: To determine the risk factors associated the incidence of NPC, particularly in Indonesia.

Methods: This systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted according to PRISMA statement. Database including PubMed, Scopus, Science Direct, Web of Science, and GARUDA were retrieved.

Predominant aspects of knowledge and practical skills among medical students with online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic era.

Background: Social restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic have shifted most learning methods into online courses, especially for medical skills education. However, the effects of online courses on medical skill education amongst medical students are still arguable. The study aims to analyse medical students' knowledge, attitude, practice and satisfaction towards medical skills between online and offline courses.

Multidiscipline management of giant reccurent nasopharyngeal angiofibroma which extends to paranasal sinuses, orbita, and intracranial in adult.

Nasopharyngeal angiofibroma (NA) is a benign, slowly growing tumour that affects males in their early puberty, and rarely men over 25 years of age. There was an interesting case of a giant recurrent NA in a 62-year-old male, which is challenging to manage due to wide tumour expansion to paranasal sinuses, orbital and intracranial. In cases of large angiofibromas disease, preoperative embolization should be performed to prevent profuse bleeding.

Correlation of chemotherapy costs with quality of life in nasopharyngeal cancer patients.

Background Nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC) is the most common neck/head cancer occurring in Indonesia and is the fourth most malignant after breast cancer, cervical cancer, and lung cancer. It is known that the cost of chemotherapy may not be separated from quality of life (QoL) to reflect the success of therapy, especially in cancer patients. Thus, studies on the correlation between chemotherapy cost and the QoL in NPC patients are needed.

Association Between Dose and Duration of Cisplatin Exposure with Cytotoxicity Effect on Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Stem Cell.

Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is ranked 6th of malignant tumors in Indonesia. To analyze the correlation of dose and duration of cisplatin exposure with cytotoxic effects on nasopharyngeal carcinoma stem cells. The biopsy NPC tissue was cultured and processed to obtain NPC stem cells to be treated with cisplatin different doses and durations (24 and 48 h).
