Methods: The present, cross-sectional, study utilized the 2016 National Survey of Children's Health, a nationally representative survey of the physical and emotional health of children in the United States.

Purpose: In December 2019, the American Society for Reproductive Medicine designated ovarian tissue cryopreservation (OTC) as no longer experimental and an alternative to oocyte cryopreservation (OC) for women receiving gonadotoxic therapy. Anticipating increased use of OTC, we compare the cost-effectiveness of OC versus OTC for fertility preservation in oncofertility patients.

Environmental antimicrobial resistance is associated with faecal pollution in Central Thailand's coastal aquaculture region.

We assessed antimicrobial resistance (AMR) potential to seven major classes of antibiotics in Central Thailand's coastal aquaculture region using high-throughput qPCR targeting 295 antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) and mobile genetic elements (MGEs). In parallel, we used MinION next generation sequencing (NGS) of 16S rRNA gene amplicons, qPCR of faecal pollution makers, and conventional plate count methods for the comprehensive characterization of environmental microbiomes. We tested the hypothesis that aquaculture increases environmental AMR by comparing ARGs and MGEs in water and sediment samples from five aquaculture sites and their associated canals.

Objectives: Calocybe indica is a famous nutritious food in Asian countries and one of the most widely cultivated mushrooms in the world. Here, we have isolated crude polysaccharides from this mushroom, characterized it and investigated its antioxidant and immunostimulatory potential.

This study aims to evaluate micropollutant occurrence and removal in a low-middle income country (LMIC) by investigating the occurrence of 28 chemicals from different classes (triclosan, 15 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), 4 estrogens and 8 polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) congeners) in three technologically diverse full-scale Brazilian wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs). These chemicals were detected at concentrations similar to those reported in other low-middle income countries (LMICs) and high-income countries (HICs) (0.1-49 μg/L) indicating their widespread use globally and the need for more studies in LMICs that are typically characterized by relatively inadequate wastewater treatment barriers.

Rabies is a vaccine-preventable viral disease present in more than 150 countries around the world. Globally, almost 60,000 people die each year from rabies, of which more than 58% are in Asia and around 45% in South Asia with especially high incidence in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Vaccination coverage of both people and stray dogs is low in the region and in general people are not given enough protection and information about pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis.
