This case report aims to highlight the diagnostic challenges of pulmonary hydatid cysts in non-endemic areas, presenting a unique case of an incidental pulmonary hydatid cyst in a 31-year-old lactating female discovered during evaluation of non-specific constitutional symptoms.

Mushrooms, being a source of therapeutically active compounds, are of great interest to researchers due to their historical usage in traditional therapies and the significant role that natural products have played in the development of contemporary medications. Lentinus polychrous is one underutilized mushroom species collected from the laterites of West Bengal, India. Our study aims toward its taxonomic validation, deciphering the secondary metabolic fingerprint, and testing its efficiency in countering many clinical issues, including oxidative stress, growing microbial drug resistance, and cancer.

Factors contributing to persistent shoulder pain after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair: Protocol for a scoping review.

Introduction: Rotator cuff (RC) tears are the most common and disabling musculoskeletal ailments among patients with shoulder pain. Although most individuals show improvement in function and pain following arthroscopic rotator cuff repair (ARCR), a subgroup of patients continue to suffer from persistent shoulder pain following the surgical procedure. Identifying these factors is important in planning preoperative management to improve patient outcomes.

Molecular basis of human angiotensin-1 converting enzyme inhibition by a series of diprolyl-derived compounds.

Angiotensin-1-converting enzyme (ACE) is a zinc-dependent carboxypeptidase of therapeutic interest for the treatment of hypertension, inflammation and fibrosis. It consists of two homologous N and C catalytic domains, nACE and cACE, respectively. Unfortunately, the current clinically available ACE inhibitors produce undesirable side effects due to the nonselective inhibition of these domains.

Preschool and Me: Educational-clinical linkage to improve health equity for children with developmental delays and disabilities from historically marginalized communities.

Societal and structural inequities have resulted in longstanding health care disparities among Black, Latino/a/e, and low-income preschool children with developmental delays and disabilities (PCw/DD), depriving them of educational and therapeutic services that improve future academic, economic, and health outcomes. To address this issue, we developed Preschool and Me (PreM), a community-clinical linkage (CCL) implemented within healthcare settings serving historically marginalized communities. This novel CCL, an educational-medical linkage model, aims to increase access to school-based services for PCw/DD.

Accuracy of robot-assisted implant surgery versus freehand placement: a retrospective clinical study.

Purpose: This study evaluated the accuracy of implant placement using a robotic system (Remebot) compared to freehand surgery and explored factors influencing accuracy.

Methods: This retrospective study included 95 implants placed in 65 patients, divided into robot-assisted (50 implants) and freehand (45 implants) groups. Platform, apical, and angular deviations were measured by superimposing preoperative plans and the postoperative CBCT images.

First-principles investigation of high capacity, rechargeable CF cathode batteries based on graphdiyne and "holey" graphene carbon allotropes.

Batteries composed of CF cathodes have high theoretical specific capacities (>860 mA h g). Attempts at realizing such batteries coupled with Li anodes have failed to deliver on this promise, however, due to a discharge voltage plateau below the theoretical maximum lowering the realized energy density and difficulties with recharging the system. In this study, we use first-principles calculations to investigate novel carbon allotropes for these battery systems: graphdiyne and "holey" graphene.

Involving youth with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities as collaborators in a comparative effectiveness trial: A community-engaged research approach.

Background: Practices to include youth with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD) are necessary to design and implement research that specifically meets the behavioral health needs of this population. This article describes a protocol for engaging youth with IDD as collaborators in a comparative effectiveness clinical trial using a community-engaged research (CEnR) approach.

Methods: Our engagement protocol, guided by the Community Engaged Research (CEnR) Framework, emphasized harm avoidance, accessibility, demonstrated value, capacity bridging and co-learning, shared power and equity in decision-making, accountability and respect, and transparent communication.

Adverse Childhood Experiences and Body Mass Index Status among Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs.

The present study examined the association between adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and body mass index (BMI) status among children and youth with special health care needs (CYSHCN), and the role of health characteristics and lifestyle factors in predicting BMI. Data from the 2016-2020 National Survey of Children's Health were utilized. Key variables included: ACEs, BMI status, level of functional impairment, depression, weekly level of physical activity, and daily screen time.

Perspectives of patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes on barriers to diabetes care: a qualitative study.

Background: Diabetes care incorporates multiple integrated elements like self-care practices, patient education and awareness, societal support, equitable access to healthcare facilities and trained healthcare professionals, commitment from the diabetes associations and government policies. There is a dearth of research exploring the barriers experienced by both People with Type 1 diabetes (PwT1D) and People with Type 2 diabetes (PwT2D) in accessing the holistic elements of diabetes care. This study thus aimed at exploring the perceived barriers among PwT1D and PwT2D in accessing diabetes care services in urban and rural areas of Nepal.

Genetic mapping of QTLs for resistance to bacterial leaf streak in hexaploid wheat.

Robust QTLs conferring resistance to bacterial leaf streak in wheat were mapped on chromosomes 3B and 5A from the variety Boost and on chromosome 7D from the synthetic wheat line W-7984. Bacterial leaf streak (BLS), caused by Xanthomonas translucens pv. undulosa poses a significant threat to global wheat production.
