Pyrene-substituted amphiphilic ATRP polymers (P1) were used to stabilize the pyrene-substituted gold(I) NHC complex (Au-1) within the hydrophobic compartment of micellar structures in a methanol/water mixture through non-covalent π-π stacking interactions. Translation of small-diameter tissue-engineered vascular grafts (TEVGs) for the treatment of coronary artery disease (CAD) remains an unfulfilled promise. This is largely due to the limited integration of TEVGs into the native vascular wall-a process hampered by the insufficient smooth muscle cell (SMC) infiltration and extracellular matrix deposition, and low vasoactivity.
