Limited urgent access to board-certified dermatologists drives patients to seek dermatologic care at urgent care centers (UCC). UCC are staffed by clinicians with comparatively limited dermatology training, often resulting in lower quality care for acute dermatology conditions. This study investigates health care referral outcomes of patients seeking dermatologic care at UCC, examine the appropriateness of UCC dermatologic care, and assess the feasibility of referral management by eConsult.

While the current literature establishes treatment protocols for adult-type melanoma, very few pediatric-specific studies exist, and children are often excluded from melanoma clinical trials. We report a case series of 23 pediatric patients aged 2-20 years old diagnosed with melanoma at the University of Rochester Medical Center between 1/1/2011 and 1/1/2022.

- A total of 3,375 HCP were analyzed, revealing that 86.8% initiated their first vaccine early, while 85% received a booster; lower education, household income, younger age, non-White race, and public health insurance were linked to delayed vaccination and booster non-receipt.
- The findings emphasize the need for ongoing monitoring and targeted campaigns to improve vaccination rates among HCP, particularly in vulnerable groups.
Purpose: Uncorrected hearing loss can result in detrimental sequelae. Research addressing clinical presentation and genetic testing would inform clinical decision making.
Method: A retrospective chart review of 96 patients aged 1 month to 46 years (median age = 6 years) diagnosed with hearing loss or deafness and who underwent genetic testing at University of Rochester Medical Center from 2011 to 2021.
Treating an acneiform eruption requires the discovery of its etiology. Often, the removal of the offending agent can lead to the resolution of the eruption, resulting in an excellent prognosis. Herein, we present a rare case of a vitamin B12-induced acneiform eruption occurring in a 68-year-old female due to an over-the-counter supplement.
