Unusual Manifestation of Bilateral Intermediate Uveitis Caused by Ocular Cytomegalovirus (CMV) in Immunocompetent Individual.

Anterior uveitis frequently occurs in ocular cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection among immunocompetent individuals. Here, we report a rare instance of bilateral isolated intermediate uveitis without retinitis or retinal vasculitis in an immunocompetent individual, later confirmed to be an ocular CMV infection. He was treated with systemic ganciclovir and topical corticosteroid.

Vision Loss as a Presenting Symptom of Vitamin B12 Deficiency.

Nutritional optic neuropathy is a rare and often overlooked factor leading to bilateral, symmetrical, and gradual visual impairment. This condition falls within the category of metabolic neuropathies. We documented a case involving bilateral nutritional optic neuropathy attributed to pancytopenia associated with vitamin B12 deficiency.

A Unique Case of Unilateral Oculomotor Nerve Palsy Secondary to Dengue Fever.

A wide range of ocular complications may arise from the mosquito-borne illness, dengue fever. We report a case of isolated unilateral oculomotor nerve palsy due to complications of dengue fever. A 50-year-old male with serologically confirmed dengue fever presented with a sudden onset of double vision with left eyelid drooping and left eye outward deviation on his day 8 of illness.

Bilateral cavernous sinus and left dural sigmoid sinus thrombosis associated with extreme exertion: a case report.

Septic cavernous sinus thrombosis is a rare but often debilitating and potentially fatal disease. We describe a case of bilateral orbital cellulitis with rapidly progressing cavernous sinus thrombosis and left sigmoidal sinus thrombosis in an immunocompetent 20-year-old military man who had undergone intensive physical training. The patient presented with rapid painful swollen left eye for 2 days.

Spontaneous repositioning of posterior chamber intraocular lens: a mere coincidence?

Despite the recent developments in modern cataract surgery and the application of a vast array of new devices and machines, late in-the-bag intraocular lens dislocation remains a devastating, albeit rare, complication. Various nonsurgical and surgical techniques have been used to manage this complication. We report a case of spontaneous repositioning in the left eye of an anteriorly subluxated in-the-bag intraocular lens.
