Seasonal variations of insect abundance: Correlating growth stage-specific metrics with weather patterns in Rangpur Region, Bangladesh.

The disclosure of insect occurrences correlating with meteorological data is pivotal in devising effective management strategies for rice fields. The study collected data on harmful and beneficial insects, along with meteorological variables, for three consecutive rice-growing seasons in 2021 and 2022. Month-wise insect distribution were delineated, with prominent species such as green leafhopper, brown planthopper, white-backed planthopper, rice whorl maggot, damselfly, parasitic wasps and green mirid bug observed consistently.

COVID-19 has accelerated the generation of healthcare (medical) waste throughout the world. Developing countries are the most affected by this hazardous and toxic medical waste due to poor management systems. In recent years, Bangladesh has experienced increasing medical waste generation with estimated growth of 3 % per year.

Comparing Stop Signal Reaction Times in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease.

Background: To investigate the relative contributions of cerebral cortex and basal ganglia to movement stopping, we tested the optimum combination Stop Signal Reaction Time (ocSSRT) and median visual reaction time (RT) in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Parkinson's disease (PD) and compared values with data from healthy controls.

Methods: Thirty-five PD patients, 22 AD patients, and 29 healthy controls were recruited to this study. RT and ocSSRT were measured using a hand-held battery-operated electronic box through a stop signal paradigm.
