Purpose: Medical second-trimester abortion in women with prior cesarean section (CS) is becoming an increasingly common phenomenon. However, data about the safety of the procedure are limited. This study addresses this issue.

The aim of this study was to describe the incidence, clinical manifestation and identify risk factors for infected pelvic hematoma. We also attempted to identify specific bacterial pathogens which may cause this phenomenon.

For some women with small localized invasive cervical cancers, there is now hope for pregnancy after treatment. Many cases of cervical cancer are diagnosed in young woman who wish to preserve their fertility.

Method: A total of 14 patients, who underwent robotic-assisted gynecological surgeries including total and subtotal hysterectomies with and without bilateral salpingo-oopherectomy, as well as one unilateral salpingo-oopherectomy and omental biopsy, were included in this study. Patients' demographics, surgical procedures, operative and postoperative complications, hospital stay, conversion to laparotomy, time data including all operative times and pathological specimen's weight were recorded.
Background: Uterine sarcoma constitutes a highly malignant group of uterine tumors. It accounts for 2-6% of uterine malignancies and its incidence is 1.7 in 100,000 women.

Study Objective: To investigate the actual complication rate of hysteroscopic surgery performed by experienced endoscopic surgeons in a single medical center.
Design: A prospective descriptive study (Canadian Task Force classification III).
Setting: An endoscopic gynecology unit at a tertiary care university hospital.

Study Objective: To emphasize the need for histologic evaluation of intrauterine lesions. Six cases of unexpected mesenchymal uterine tumors were diagnosed following pathologic review of specimens obtained during hysteroscopy to evaluate intrauterine lesions.
Design: Retrospective chart review (Canadian Task Force classification II-3).
Exogenous melatonin reportedly induces drowsiness and sleep, and may ameliorate sleep disturbances, including the nocturnal awakenings associated with old age. However, existing studies on the soporific efficacy of melatonin have been highly heterogeneous in regard to inclusion and exclusion criteria, measures to evaluate insomnia, doses of the medication, and routes of administration. We reviewed and analyzed (by meta-analysis) available information on effects of exogenous melatonin on sleep.

Carcinoma of the endometrium is the most common female pelvic malignancy in the US. Although it is primarily a disease of the postmenopausal female, 25% of patients are premenopausal, with 3-5% in women 40 years old or younger. The younger group of women with endometrial carcinoma are frequently nulligravid with a history of infertility, and a strong desire to preserve fertility.

Our objective was to study cell-matrix interactions that may influence invasive behavior of a novel, primary peritoneal carcinosarcoma cell line (PC880), and to assess how these cell-matrix interactions are different from frequently studied cultured ovarian carcinoma cells NIH:OVCAR-3, SKOV-3, and ES-2. We also wanted to determine how the expression of the cell-cell adhesion molecule E-cadherin is related to invasive behavior.

Objectives: To investigate--in our pregnant population--the impact, severity and outcome of listeriosis on both mother and fetus.
Objective: Although the intrauterine device (IUD) is one of the most widely used forms of contraception throughout the world, its potential long-term effects on the uterus have not been thoroughly evaluated. This paper reports the long-term results of IUD use on the incidence of endometrial cancer.
Study Design: The data is part of a nationwide case-control, pilot study that was undertaken in order to evaluate the possible influence of ovulation induction drugs on the risk of endometrial cancer.
Unlabelled: Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women and the leading cause of death in women, 40 to 55 years of age. The lifetime odds of developing breast cancer are apparently up to 1 in 8 women in North America and 1 in 12 in Western Europe. According to the American Cancer Society, some 200,000 women (and 1,500 men) will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year.
