Article Synopsis
  • Designing efficient organic polymer photocatalysts for hydrogen production using visible and near-infrared (NIR) light remains challenging.
  • Researchers developed a new series of polymer nanoparticles (Pdots) using ITIC and BTIC units with different π-linkers, which work effectively alone without needing to combine with other materials.
  • The difluorothiophene (ThF) π-linker improves charge transfer between donor and acceptor components in the polymers, resulting in significantly enhanced hydrogen production rates of 279 µmol/h with visible light and 20.5 µmol/h with NIR light, and an apparent quantum yield of 4.76% at 700 nm.

Objective: The use of fat grafting is being widely used for different indications one of which is wound healing. In this study we compare the use of autologous fat grafting (AFG) as a novel indication in acute burn wounds healing and burn scarring to the conventional methods of burn wound management both clinically and histologically. Several small observational studies demonstrated the effect of the AFG in healing of chronic wounds, different vascular ulcers or effect on scars yet no randomized controlled trial is available to compare its role with conventional methods.

Introduction: Cryptorchidism is defined as the absence of one or both testicles from the scrotum, which is considered one of the most common birth defects of male genitalia. Mostly the undescended testes are in the inguinal region, while the intra-abdominal location accounts for only 10 % of the cases. The potential risk of malignant transformation in an undescended testis is approximately 2.
