Clinical ethical practice and associated factors in healthcare facilities in Ethiopia: a cross-sectional study.

Background: Clinical ethical practice (CEP) is required for healthcare workers (HCWs) to improve health-care delivery. However, there are gaps between accepted ethical standards and CEP in Ethiopia. There have been limited studies conducted on CEP in the country.

Health workforce governance for compassionate and respectful care: a framework for research, policy and practice.

The progressive realisation of universal health coverage requires that health services are not only available and accessible, but also that they are rendered to the population in an acceptable, compassionate and respectful manner to deliver quality of care. Health workers' competencies play a central role in the provision of compassionate and respectful care (CRC); but health workers' behaviour is also influenced by the policy and governance environment in which they operate. The identification of relevant policy levers to enhance CRC therefore calls for actions that enable health workers to optimise their roles and fulfil their responsibilities.

Evaluation of compassionate and respectful care implementation status in model healthcare facilities: a cross-sectional study.

Background: Compassionate respectful, and caring (CRC) creates a pleasant environment for health workforce (HWF), customers, and families. For the past five years, the Ethiopian Ministry of Health (EMoH) has developed a CRC plan to improve person-centered care. Therefore, we aimed to assess the implementation status of CRC and associated factors in the 16 model health facilities (MHFs) in Ethiopia.

Status of institutional-level respectful maternity care: Results from the national Ethiopia EmONC assessment.

Objective: To assess the availability of an institutional-level respectful maternity care (RMC) index, its components, and associated factors.

Methods: A cross-sectional study design was applied to a 2016 census of 3804 health facilities in Ethiopia. The availability of an institutional-level RMC index was computed as the availability of all nine items identified as important aspects of institutional-level RMC during childbirth.
