Introduction: Healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs) and emerging multi-drug resistance in nosocomial pathogens are perceived as a serious public health threat. Hands of healthcare workers (HCWs) become routinely colonized during patient care, serving as vehicles for transmission and leading to HCAIs.
