Background: Recent research suggests that metabolic dysregulation caused by insulin resistance (IR) can have a negative impact on cognition. Therefore, the objective of this study is to explore the role of IR as an independent metabolic risk for decreased cognitive performance.

Methods: The study included 1072 non-demented participants aged 45 years and above were recruited from Tata Longitudinal Study of Aging (TLSA).

The evaluation of the effect of laser in disinfection of root canal in pulp regenerative therapy, if found effective laser can be used for root canal disinfection in cases of regenerative endodontic therapy. This study includes a systematic review addressing the question of whether laser is effective in root canal treatment in regenerative endodontic therapy. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs), case series, and animal studies evaluating the effect of laser-assisted endodontic irrigation in pulp regenerative therapy were included.

Objective: Current research compared traditional FESS, balloon sinuplasty, and powered instruments for CRS efficiency.

Methods: A prospective comparison analysis of 150 CRS patients who received FESS. The surgical method divided the patients into three groups: Group A (conventional FESS, = 50), Group B (balloon sinuplasty, = 50), and Group C (powered instrumentation, = 50).

Introduction: Pulpal and periradicular diseases stem from immune reactions to microbiota, causing inflammation. Limited blood supply hampers dental pulp self-healing. Managing inflammation involves eliminating bacteria and reducing pro-inflammatory mediators especially MMP-9, which has a significant correlation with pulpitis.

Objective: This study's objective was to assess and contrast the performance of several plating techniques in the treatment of zygomaticomaxillary complex (ZMC) fractures. Group A (Microplate System), Group B (Titanium Mesh System), and Group C (Absorbable Plate System) plating systems were the ones that were studied.

Materials And Methods: With 10 patients in each group, a retrospective analysis of 30 patients with ZMC fractures was done.

Introduction: Extragenital warts, often known as EGWs, affect between 7% and 10% of the population. Despite the plethora of research on the impact of genital warts (GWs) on "Quality Of Life", EGWs have received little attention. The purpose of this study was to conduct a cross-sectional investigation with the objective of contrasting the effects of GWs and EGWs on the health-related quality of life and other characteristics.

Bioactivity, structural integrity and tribological behaviour of biodegradable orthopaedic fracture fixing accessories considerably impact their actual performance in the body environment. Immune system in the living body quickly responds to the wear debris as foreign material and begins a complex inflammatory response. Magnesium (Mg) based biodegradable implants are widely studied for temporary orthopaedic applications, due to their similar elastic modulus and density to natural bones.

Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is a disorder of reversible subcortical vasogenic brain oedema in patients with acute neurological symptoms. Drug-induced PRES has been described with the usage of drugs that target receptors regulating vascular permeability or altering immune response. Lenvatinib is a receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor that inhibits the kinase activities of vascular endothelial growth factor receptors implicated in cancer progression in addition to their normal cellular functions.

The aim of this study is to compare laparoscopic and conventional techniques following Total Pharyngo-laryngo-esophagectomy (TPLE) with respect to perioperative morbidity and mortality and postoperative recovery in post cricoid cancer patients. This is a prospective study, which was undertaken in Gujrat Cancer Research Institute (GCRI) in the period of July 2007 to March 2010. Fifteen consecutive patients who underwent laparoscopic TPLE were compared to that of 18 consecutive patients who underwent open TPLE.

This study investigated the coupling of sulfate radical generating oxidants, (persulfate, PS and peroxymonosulfate, PMS) with TiO photocatalysis for the degradation of microcystin-LR (MC-LR). Treatment efficiency was evaluated by estimating the electrical energy per order (E). Oxidant addition at 4 mg/L reduced the energy requirements of the treatment by 60% and 12% for PMS and PS, respectively compared with conventional photocatalysis.

The state-of-art research in the field of life's organization confronts the need to investigate a number of interacting components, their properties and conditions of sustainable behaviour within a natural system. In biology, ecology and life sciences, the performance of such stable system is usually related to homeostasis, a property of the system to actively regulate its state within a certain allowable limits. In our previous work, we proposed a deterministic model for systems' homeostasis.

Epithelial-Myoepithelial Carcinoma (EMC) is a rare low grade epithelial malignancy of major Salivary Glands (SG). Though the histomorphology of this tumor is distinct, unusual location and clinical presentation may pose diagnostic difficulties especially when this lesion is first encountered at cytology. We report a case of 60-year-old female presenting with nasal obstruction of three months duration.

Mathematical modeling is a convenient way for characterization of complex ecosystems. This approach was applied to study the dynamics of zooplankton in Lake Sevan (Armenia) at different stages of anthropogenic eutrophication with the use of a novel method called discrete modeling of dynamical systems with feedback (DMDS). Simulation demonstrated that the application of this method helps in characterization of inter- and intra-component relationships in a natural ecosystem.

Placental site trophoblastic tumour (PSTT) is a rare form of trophoblastic disease accounting for < 2% of all gestational trophoblastic neoplasms. Most of the cases follow a normal pregnancy and a small number have a preceeding molar pregnancy or spontaneous abortion. It can occur as early as several weeks or as late as 15 years after normal delivery, molar pregnancy or abortion.
