Nicotine, a cholinergic alkaloid found in the nightshade family, disrupts normal body function and was tested on Gallus gallus cells after being extracted from cigarettes. The study observed permanent changes in the cells after nicotine exposure.
Various phytochemicals, including turmeric, neem, bay leaf, green tea, and tulsi, were tested for their ability to restore the nicotine-stressed cells. Among these, neem and tulsi showed the most significant recovery rates.
