Hypercalcemia of Malignancy is a complicated condition often linked to parathyroid hormone, parathyroid hormone-related peptide, or bone metastasis. This report presents a unique case of calcitriol-mediated hypercalcemia in an 89-year-old female with primary pancreatic lymphoma, highlighting the rarity and complexity of this presentation. Initially, the patient's condition was thought to be related to sarcoidosis, but the recurrence of hypercalcemia led to the discovery of pancreatic B-cell lymphoma as the underlying cause.

Article Synopsis
  • Nivestym, a biosimilar to Neupogen, is being evaluated for its effectiveness in mobilizing peripheral blood stem cells (PBSC) in healthy donors for allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT).
  • A retrospective study analyzed data from 541 donors who received either Nivestym or Neupogen, focusing on factors like donor age, weight, and various counts of cells before and after treatment.
  • Results showed that while Nivestym was generally as effective as Neupogen for PBSC mobilization, younger donors (under 35) had a slightly lower CD34 cell count after using Nivestym compared to those using Neupogen.

Nevertheless, the association is not consistent across all studies. The present systematic review and meta-analysis aims to collate the hitherto available evidence and provide a pooled estimate of the association between GSD and PHPT.

EPSCC is a highly aggressive form of cancer that often results in unfavorable survival outcomes, posing significant challenges in terms of management due to the absence of established treatment protocols. Despite receiving standard treatment including bicalutamide and leuprorelin, the patient's condition showed no improvement.
