Background: Once-daily, single-inhaler mometasone furoate/indacaterol acetate/glycopyrronium bromide (MF/IND/GLY, an ICS/LABA/LAMA) and MF/IND (an ICS/LABA) via Breezhaler have been approved for the maintenance treatment of patients with asthma inadequately controlled with medium-or high-dose ICS or medium-or high-dose ICS/LABA treatment.
Objective: Once-daily (o.d.
Introduction: Patient perception of the burden of chronic bronchitis symptoms in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) can be assessed using patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs). The Cough and Sputum Assessment Questionnaire (CASA-Q) was developed and tested for this purpose. This study reviewed the performance of the CASA-Q in published online studies and tested a novel approach to complement traditional methods of qualitative content validation.

Methods: Study 1 (IND/GLY/MF) and Study 2 (IND/MF) were 52-week, phase III, open-label, single-arm, multicenter studies conducted in Japanese adult patients with inadequately controlled asthma. The primary endpoint was incidence and severity of treatment-emergent adverse events (AEs) over 52-weeks.
A novel, once-daily (o.d.), fixed-dose combination (FDC) of indacaterol acetate (IND), glycopyrronium bromide (GLY), and mometasone furoate (MF), delivered by the inhaler Breezhaler device, is the first long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist/long-acting muscarinic antagonist/inhaled corticosteroid (LABA/LAMA/ICS) therapy to be approved for maintenance treatment of asthma in adults inadequately controlled on LABA/ICS.

This pooled analysis evaluated efficacy and safety of mometasone furoate/indacaterol acetate (MF/IND) versus fluticasone propionate/salmeterol xinafoate (FLU/SAL) in patients with inadequately controlled asthma.
Methods: This analysis included patients from PALLADIUM (NCT02554786) and IRIDIUM (NCT02571777) studies who received high-dose MF/IND (320/150 µg) or medium-dose MF/IND (160/150 µg) one time a day or high-dose FLU/SAL (500/50 µg) two times a day for 52 weeks.
Exposure-adjusted event rate is a quantity often used in clinical trials to describe average event count per unit of person-time. The event count may represent the number of patients experiencing first (incident) event episode, or the total number of event episodes, including recurring events. For inference about difference in the exposure-adjusted rates between interventions, many methods of interval estimation rely on the assumption of Poisson distribution for the event counts.

Ligelizumab had greater efficacy than omalizumab on inhaled and skin allergen provocation responses in mild allergic asthma. This multi-centre, randomised, double-blind study was designed to test ligelizumab in severe asthma patients not adequately controlled with high-dose inhaled corticoids plus long-acting β2-agonist.

Methods: Patient-level data were pooled from four randomized trials, including 52-week studies PALLADIUM (n = 2216) and IRIDIUM (n = 3092), 24-week study ARGON (n = 1426), and 12-week study QUARTZ (n = 802). Cardio-/cerebrovascular (CCV) event frequencies were examined in the following comparisons: (1) LABA effect: pooled-dose MF/IND vs.
Background: Fixed-dose combinations (FDCs) of inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) and long-acting β-adrenoceptor agonists (LABA) are considered safe and efficacious in asthma management. Most available FDCs require twice-daily dosing to achieve optimum therapeutic effect. The objective of the PALLADIUM study was to assess the efficacy and safety of once-daily FDC of mometasone furoate plus indacaterol acetate (MF-IND) versus mometasone furoate (MF) monotherapy in patients with inadequately controlled asthma.

The aim of the IRIDIUM study was to assess the efficacy and safety of a once-daily, single-inhaler combination of mometasone furoate, indacaterol acetate, and glycopyrronium bromide (MF-IND-GLY) versus ICS-LABA in patients with inadequately controlled asthma.
Methods: In this 52-week, double-blind, double-dummy, parallel-group, active-controlled phase 3 study, patients were recruited from 415 sites across 41 countries.
Background: Omalizumab has > 15 years of real-world evidence of effectiveness in Caucasian patients. In August 2017, it was approved as an add-on therapy for the management of moderate-to-severe asthma in China.
Objective: To compare the efficacy and safety of omalizumab in Chinese and Caucasian patients.
Dose-related efficacy and safety of fevipiprant (QAW039), an oral DP (CRTh2) receptor antagonist, was assessed in patients with allergic asthma uncontrolled by low-dose inhaled corticosteroids (ICS).Adult patients were randomised to 12 weeks' treatment with once-daily (1, 3, 10, 30, 50, 75, 150, 300 or 450 mg ) or twice-daily (2, 25, 75 or 150 mg ) fevipiprant (n=782), montelukast 10 mg (n=139) or placebo (n=137). All patients received inhaled budesonide 200 μg Fevipiprant produced a statistically significant improvement in the primary end-point of change in pre-dose forced expiratory volume in 1 s at week 12 (p=0.

The device operation is investigated with simulations and experiments. The switch can be fabricated at the nanoscale with extremely low capacitance.
