Background & Aims: As the global prevalence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) continues to rise, ubiquity of alcohol use has also prompted discussion regarding the potential interactions between the two. This study aims to examine the effects of modest alcohol consumption on the prevalence and complications of NAFLD in a multi-ethnic population.
Methods: This study analyses the 2017-2018 cycles of NHANES that examined liver fibrosis and steatosis with vibration controlled transient elastography.
Numerous countries and jurisdictions have implemented differential COVID-19 public health restrictions based on individual vaccination status to mitigate the public health risks posed by unvaccinated individuals. Although it is scientifically and ethically justifiable to introduce such vaccination-based differentiated measures as a risk-based approach to resume high-risk activities in an ongoing pandemic, their justification is weakened by lack of clarity on their intended goals and the specific risks or potential harms they intend to mitigate. Furthermore, the criteria for the removal of differentiated measures may not be clear, which raises the possibility of shifting goalposts without clear justification and with potential for unfairly discriminatory consequences.

There is a need to assess medical students' education needs in pandemic preparedness. The objective of this mixed-methods study was threefold: (1) to assess COVID-19 perceived efficacy, susceptibility, and anxiety in relation to health literacy; (2) to describe attitudes towards a policy of precautionary measures against COVID-19 and willingness to work during an outbreak; and (3) to examine multilevel factors associated with willingness to work.
