Prevalence and Visual Consequences of Non-adherent Patients Receiving Anti-vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF) Injections at King Fahad Specialist Hospital (KFSH), Qassim Region.

Background: Anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) injection treatment is a widely utilized therapy for various retinal diseases, including diabetic macular edema (DME). Therefore, the importance of compliance and follow-up should be discussed with the patient. There have been no studies conducted in the Qassim region to estimate the prevalence of patients missing their anti-VEGF appointments.

Factors associated with patients bypassing primary healthcare centres in Qassim Region, KSA.

Objective: This study investigates the reasons for bypassing local primary healthcare centres (PHCs) by patients with minor illnesses in Qassim Region, KSA.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was performed on 266 patients that visited emergency departments in public hospitals in Qassim Region. The patients were randomly selected and categorised as level five patients (LFPs) using the Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) for patient characterisation.
