Background: The potential link between disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) and malignancy in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients has generated significant concern, particularly given the immunosuppressive nature of these treatments. Conflicting evidence in the literature has left this issue unresolved, underscoring the need for definitive research to inform clinical practice. This study addresses this gap by examining cancer occurrence among MS patients on DMTs treated at two tertiary-care centers in Saudi Arabia.

Sleep Quality Assessment and Its Predictors Among Saudi Adults with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Poor sleep quality is prevalent among adults with diabetes, impacting their physical, psychological, and functional well-being. Our goals were to assess the prevalence of poor sleep quality and its association with glycemic control and to identify predictors of poor sleep quality among adults with diabetes mellitus. This cross-sectional study took place at a tertiary hospital, from October 2022 to March 2023, including 192 adults with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Medical Students' Perspectives Regarding the Use of a Slit-Lamp Smartphone Adapter for Clinical Slit-Lamp Photography.

Background This study aimed to investigate medical students' perspectives regarding the ease and utility of smartphone slit-lamp photography. Methodology In this prospective experimental study, fourth and fifth-year medical students who were in or had finished ophthalmology rotation were included to attempt slit-lamp smartphone anterior segment photography on adult patients after a brief hands-on instruction course. Each medical student attempted to record five supervised slit-lamp videos of the anterior segment of five patients using the described adapter and their own smartphone.

Background: Anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) injection treatment is a widely utilized therapy for various retinal diseases, including diabetic macular edema (DME). Therefore, the importance of compliance and follow-up should be discussed with the patient. There have been no studies conducted in the Qassim region to estimate the prevalence of patients missing their anti-VEGF appointments.

Background: Poisoning is a major health problem especially in developing countries and leads to high morbidity and mortality.

Objective: This study investigates the reasons for bypassing local primary healthcare centres (PHCs) by patients with minor illnesses in Qassim Region, KSA.

Methods: A cross-sectional study was performed on 266 patients that visited emergency departments in public hospitals in Qassim Region. The patients were randomly selected and categorised as level five patients (LFPs) using the Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) for patient characterisation.
