Demographic Profiles, Etiological Spectrum, and Anatomical Locations of the Post-Hepatic Obstructive Jaundice in Adult Population in Hadhramout Region in Yemen.

Background: Obstructive jaundice is a common health challenge in daily clinical practice caused by a heterogeneous group of benign and malignant conditions in or around extrahepatic bile ducts. This study aimed to investigate the causes of obstructive jaundice, analyze the age and sex distribution, and report the locations of obstruction.

Methods: This was a retrospective study of electronic records of patients diagnosed with obstructive jaundice in the Hadhramout region in Yemen.

Establishing local diagnostic reference levels for computed tomography examinations using size-specific dose estimates.

Objectives: To establish local DRL (LDRL) for computed tomography (CT) examinations based on size-specific dose estimates (SSDEs), which consider patient size. The concept of diagnostic reference level (DRL) was introduced to limit patient exposure to unnecessary radiation. However, traditional DRL values do not consider patient size.

Evaluating Sonographers' Awareness of Artifacts in Renal Ultrasound Scans.

Background: A routine ultrasound scan is used to assess a variety of renal pathological cases. Sonographers face a variety of challenges that may affect their interpretation. Understanding normal organ shapes, human anatomy, physical concepts, and artifacts is required for accurate diagnosis.

Etiology of Hydronephrosis in adults and children: Ultrasonographic Assessment in 233 patients.

Objectives: Hydronephrosis (HN) is dilatation of the collecting system of the kidney due to obstruction of urine outflow. This study intended firstly, to investigate the efficacy of ultrasound (US) imaging to determine the cause of HN, and secondly, to list the causes of HN.

Methods: In this retrospective study, 233 patients with HN were scanned to determine the cause of the HN in the period from 1 January 2016 to 31 October 2017.
