Introduction Recent cases of human monkeypox virus (MPXV) infections have raised global health concerns, as sporadic instances have occurred in various regions, prompting investigations into the potential for increased transmission. This underscores the importance of effective communication strategies in addressing the emerging challenges associated with this viral ailment. The study was conducted to understand public anxiety and knowledge related to MPXV infection, particularly in the context of emerging infectious diseases.

Introduction And Importance: Congenital fibrovascular pupillary membranes (CFPMs) represent a rare poorly understood condition that has been sporadically reported in the literature. The presence of such a membrane can cause pupillary block and further complications, therefore must be properly diagnosed and managed.

Case Presentation: We are presenting the successful treatment of 2 cases with CFPM.

Background And Objectives: Peritoneal dialysis is an excellent treatment for end-stage renal disease. Peritoneal dialysis is more advantageous if the catheter is positioned laparoscopically with omentopexy. General anesthesia is required for laparoscopic peritoneal dialysis catheter placement.

Giant Esophageal Leiomyoma: Diagnostic and Therapeutic Challenges.

BACKGROUND Leiomyoma is a rare, benign, esophageal tumor that does not often measure >10 cm. Here, we report a case of giant esophageal leiomyoma in a 24-year-old man. CASE REPORT A 24-year-old man who smoked and had primary hypertension and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency presented with a history of shortness of breath and productive cough with yellowish sputum, a long history of dysphagia to solid food, and a weight loss of 7 kg over 2 months.

Objectives: To assess the prevalence of diabetes-related distress (DRD) among Type 2 diabetics in the diabetic center of King Salman Hospital, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Methods: This was an observational descriptive study conducted between December 2019 and January 2020 among T2DM patients followed up at the diabetic clinics of the Diabetic Center of King Salman Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. We used the 17-items Diabetes Distress Scale (DDS17) to measure DRD.

EMS operation in a female restricted university, Saudi prospective.

This paper was written to explain the process and steps and to describe the experience with building a women-only operated collegiate emergency medical service (EMS) system in the largest women-only university in the world. To the best of the authors' knowledge, the EMS system described in this report is the first collegiate EMS system in the Gulf region. The concept of the collegiate EMS system at the university, the factors that mandated the creation of this system, the process steps, the challenges faced, and, finally, the reported outcome have been evaluated.

Levels of Practice and Determinants of Diabetes Self-Care in Primary Health Care in Jeddah City, Saudi Arabia.

Objective To assess the level and determinants of practice in diabetes self-management at primary health care centers (PHCCs) and to analyze the association of self-management with the level of glycemic control. Method A cross-sectional study was conducted among patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, aged ≥ 17 years, and being followed at PHCCs in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from December 1, 2019, to December 30, 2019. A multistage cluster sampling technique was used to select 350 participants from five PHCCs.

Background: Mental disorders are common among migrant workers. There is no data on depression in Saudi Arabia among them; although, they are a third of the population.

Mini-thoracotomy vs. conventional sternotomy mitral valve surgery: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Introduction: Minimal access mitral valve surgery (mini-MVS) approaches are becoming increasingly common. They are thought to be associated with less perioperative bleeding and postoperative pain, resulting in shorter hospital length-of-stay (LOS) and faster return to daily activities. However, there are concerns that this approach may have inferior surgical results - with resultant increases in morbidity and mortality - when compared to conventional mitral valve surgery.

Augmented asymmetrical visual field dependence in asymptomatic diabetics: evidence of subclinical asymmetrical bilateral vestibular dysfunction.

Background: Diabetes negatively affects the vestibular system in many ways, with vestibular dysfunction (VD), a co-morbidity with a high prevalence in diabetics.

Methods: Fifty-seven patients (114 eyes) with threshold ROP who underwent laser therapy were contacted for reassessment. A chart review was performed for all patients to collect data on visual acuity, retinal status and strabismus.
