Some new 3H-quinazolin-4-one derivatives were synthesised and screened for anticancer, antiphospholipases, antiproteases, and antimetabolic syndrome activities. Compound 15d was more potent in reducing the cell viabilities of HT-29 and SW620 cells lines to 38%, 36.7%, compared to 5-FU which demonstrated cell viabilities of 65.

The present study encompasses a broad in vivo study to evaluate gastroprotective activity of a novel dibromo substituted Schiff base complex against Sprague Dawley (SD) rats.
Methods: 2, 2'-[1, 2-cyclohexanediylbis (nitriloethylidyne)]bis(4-bromophenol) (CNBP) is synthesized via a Schiff base reaction, using the related ketone and diamine as the starting materials.
Background: There are multiple aetiologies for dyspnea in patients with liver disease, including pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, hepatic hydrothorax, portopulmonary syndrome, and hepatopulmonary syndrome. The aim of this paper is to emphasize the importance of early diagnosis and management of hepatopulmonary syndrome.
Case Presentation: We report a case of a 65-year-old male who was known to have chronic hepatitis C presented with one-year history of shortness of breath and cyanosis.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) occurs in more than 50% of patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). However, the impact of intermittent hypoxia (IH) on renal function and oxygen homeostasis is unclear. Male Sprague-Dawley rats were exposed to IH (270 s at 21% O; 90 s hypoxia, 6.

The metagenomic DNA analysis was performed using next generation sequencing technology (Illumina MiSeq). Sequence data from amplified internal transcribed spacers (ITS) 2 region with fungal-specific primers exposed 83,417 sequences belonging to 7 operational taxonomic units (OTUs).

As tourism is the mainstay of the Maldives' economy, this country recognizes the importance of controlling mosquito-borne diseases in an environmentally responsible manner. This study sought to estimate the economic costs of dengue in this Small Island Developing State of 417,492 residents. The authors reviewed relevant available documents on dengue epidemiology and conducted site visits and interviews with public health offices, health centers, referral hospitals, health insurers, and drug distribution organizations.

Objective: We investigated the expression of IL-17 and the association of IL-17 gene polymorphisms with CRC susceptibility in a Middle East population.
Materials And Methods: The study included 117 diagnosed CRC patients and 100 age- and gender-matched healthy controls.
This experiment evaluated Panduratin A (PA), a chalcone isolated from Boesenbergia rotunda rhizomes, for its hepatoprotectivity. Rats were subjected to liver damage induced by intra-peritoneal injection of thioacetamide (TAA). PA was tested first for its acute toxicity and then administered by oral gavage at doses 5, 10, and 50 mg/kg to rats.

Developments in screening, prevention, biomarker, personalized therapies and chemotherapy have improved detection and treatment. However, despite these advances, many patients with advanced metastatic tumors still succumb to the disease.

Here, we discuss three cases of primary SS where presenting manifestation was distal renal tubular acidosis. The possibility of an underlying autoimmune disorder should be considered in a patient presenting with distal tubular acidosis or recurrent hypokalemic periodic paralysis as treatment of primary disease improves the outcome of illness.

He developed a high platelet counts reaching up to 1655×10⁹/L on day 29 of ATRA treatment, and started to recover spontaneously on day 33 of treatment, without any change in ATRA, or adding any cytoreduction therapy. No complications associated with thrombocytosis were observed.
