Demographic Profiles, Etiological Spectrum, and Anatomical Locations of the Post-Hepatic Obstructive Jaundice in Adult Population in Hadhramout Region in Yemen.

Background: Obstructive jaundice is a common health challenge in daily clinical practice caused by a heterogeneous group of benign and malignant conditions in or around extrahepatic bile ducts. This study aimed to investigate the causes of obstructive jaundice, analyze the age and sex distribution, and report the locations of obstruction.

Methods: This was a retrospective study of electronic records of patients diagnosed with obstructive jaundice in the Hadhramout region in Yemen.

Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis Associated With Ulcerative Colitis Coexisting With Cholangiocarcinoma: A Case Report.

Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is a rare chronic inflammatory disease in which multifocal fibrosis of bile ducts causes eventually narrowing and even blocking, forming multifocal strictures alternated to dilatations. Here, we reported an extremely rare case of PSC associated with ulcerative colitis (UC) and coexisting with cholangiocarcinoma in a 33-year-old male presented with right upper quadrant pain and dark urine. Liver function tests were deranged, and ERCP found a beaded cholangiography appearance due to multifocal bile duct strictures alternating with normal and dilated segments of the common hepatic duct and the intrahepatic bile ducts.

Histopathological analysis of sinonasal lesions associated with chronic rhinosinusitis and comparison with computed tomography diagnoses.

Background &objective: Chronic rhino sinusitis (CRS) is an inflammatory condition of the paranasal sinuses and the nasal passage lasting more than three months either with or without sinonasal polyps. This study aimed to report the common sinonasal lesions associated with CRS according to the histopathology results, to compare between clinical and histopathological diagnoses, and to compare between radiological and histopathological diagnoses of the sinonasal lesions.

Methods: A retrospective study of the electronic records of 82 patients diagnosed with CRS with nasal polyps.

Predictive value of ultrasound imaging in differentiating benign from malignant breast lesions taking biopsy results as the standard.

Background: Breast lesions (BLs) are abnormal swellings within the breast. The importance lies in need to exclude breast cancer.

Objective: Due to the role of ultrasound (US) imaging in evaluating of BLs, this study was conducted to evaluate the predictive value of US imaging for differentiating benign from malignant BLs and to assess the need of biopsy in BLs.

Diagnostic accuracy of ultrasonography versus fine-needle-aspiration cytology for predicting benign thyroid lesions.

Background And Objective: Thyroid nodules (TNs) are abnormal growths of thyroid cells that form masses within the thyroid gland. TNs are common, and the importance lies in need to exclude thyroid cancer. This study was intended to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of ultrasonography for differentiating benign from malignant thyroid lesions in comparison with fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNA cytology).
