Introduction The Eustachian tube regulates middle ear functions such as ventilation and pressure normalization. Eustachian tube dysfunction (ETD) is defined as the failure of the Eustachian tube to maintain one or more of its functions. It is a common condition that is associated with other middle ear disorders such as cholesteatoma, tympanic membrane atelectasis, and otitis media with effusion (OME).

Knowledge and Attitude towards Obstructive Sleep Apnea among Primary Care Physicians in Northern Regions of Saudi Arabia: A Multicenter Study.

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a serious and often underreported condition, despite its highly prevalent distribution. Primary care physicians (PCPs) play an integral role in screening and managing patients with a high risk of developing OSA. This northern Saudi Arabian cross-sectional survey assessed the knowledge and attitude towards OSA among 264 randomly selected PCPs using the OSA Knowledge and Attitude (OSAKA) questionnaire.

Unilateral internal jugular vein phlebectasia in an adult: Management and one year follow-up.

Phlebectasia describes an anomalous, fusiform dilatation of a vein. In the neck region, the internal and external jugular veins are mostly affected. To our knowledge, this is the first case in Saudi Arabia of internal jugular phlebectasia affecting an adult female.

Effect of thyroidectomy with totally preserved recurrent laryngeal nerve on the objective vocal functions.

Objective: To study the effect of thyroidectomy with totally preserved recurrent laryngeal nerve (RLN) on the objective vocal functions.

Methodology: It is a prospective pilot study of 10 patients undergoing thyroid surgery on whom to study the effect of thyroidectomy with totally preserved RLN on the objective vocal functions. Patient history and demographic data were collected at the time of admission and in each period of assessment average fundamental frequency; absolute jitter, shimmer, and others were measured.
