Geographical distribution of ABO and RHD antigens is important for blood transfusion services and population genetics studies. There are few data on this topic in Burkina Faso, a multi-ethnic country. Our study aims at reporting phenotypic and allelic frequencies of ABO and RHD blood groups among voluntary blood donors from various ethnical regions of Burkina Faso.

Synopsis of recent research by authors named "Abdoul-Guyani Sawadogo"

  • - Abdoul-Guyani Sawadogo's research focuses on the distribution of blood group antigens, particularly ABO and RHD, which are critical for blood transfusion services and understanding population genetics in multi-ethnic regions.
  • - In his 2019 study published in the "International Journal of Immunogenetics," he aimed to report the phenotypic and allelic frequencies of these blood groups among voluntary blood donors across diverse ethnic regions in Burkina Faso.
  • - The findings contribute significantly to the limited data available regarding blood group distributions in Burkina Faso, highlighting the importance of this research for both clinical applications and future genetic studies in the region.
