Background: Metabolic syndrome is a critical health concern associated with an elevated risk of chronic health problems including cardiovascular disease and diabetes. There are shreds of evidence that novel inflammatory ratios including neutrophil-to-lymphocyte, platelet-to-lymphocyte and lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratios serve as prognostic biomarkers for metabolic syndrome (MetS).
