Background: Thyroid disorders have significant clinical sequelae, including impaired growth in children, metabolic abnormalities, and impaired cognitive function. However, available studies on burden of thyroid diseases in people with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), particularly its prevalence and its interaction with HIV related factors (like CD4 count), are controversial. This review aimed to provide a comprehensive summary and analysis on the extent of thyroid dysfunctions in this population.

Studies in literature discussed the drawbacks of the ureteral access sheath use in flexible ureteroscopy and in the same time mentioned the benefits of ureteral access sheath in decreasing the incidence of urosepsis and better stone free rate. In the current study we aim to compare between percutaneous nephrostomy tube (PCN) insertion before flexible ureteroscopy and conventional ureteral access sheath (UAS) flexible ureteroscopy in terms of safety, efficacy and perioperative outcomes. In all, 100 Patients aged 20 to 67 years with upper ureteric stones and mild hydronephrosis or renal pelvic stones less than 20 mm with mild hydronephrosis were randomized into 2 groups; patients undergoing PCN insertion before flexible ureteroscopy, and patients undergoing the conventional UAS flexible ureteroscopy.

Article Synopsis
  • Understanding the role of Yes-associated protein 1 (YAP1) is essential for improving milk production in mammals, as it impacts mammary epithelial cell function during both pregnancy and lactation.
  • YAP1 is highly expressed in the mammary glands of various species, especially in the alveoli during gestation and lactation, and its inhibition negatively affects milk yield and mammary gland structure in mice.
  • Through its regulation of cellular processes, YAP1 interacts with hormones like Prolactin to enhance cell growth and milk components, while being inhibited by Melatonin, highlighting its critical role in lactation.

In this paper, the unified approach is used in acquiring some new results to the coupled Maccari system (MS) in Itô sense with multiplicative noise. The MS is a nonlinear model used in hydrodynamics, plasma physics, and nonlinear optics to represent isolated waves in a restricted region. We provide new results with complicated structures to this model, including hyperbolic, trigonometric and rational function solutions.

This manuscript explores the stability theory of several stochastic/random models. It delves into analyzing the stability of equilibrium states in systems influenced by standard Brownian motion and exhibit random variable coefficients. By constructing appropriate Lyapunov functions, various types of stability are identified, each associated with distinct stability conditions.

Introduction The coracoid process is integral to the functionality of the scapula, serving as a crucial attachment point for several muscles involved in shoulder movement and stability. In pathologies and fractures of the coracoid process, understanding the morphometric variations is essential for devising optimal surgical strategies. Given the substantial lack of relevant data, this study aimed to analyze the morphometric variations in the dimensions of the coracoid process among the Sudanese population and evaluate the differences in the measurements in relation to gender.

The reproductive technology has a significant impact on the development of livestock production. The thyme oil, rich in phytoestrogen chemicals like apigenin, has been found to enhance reproductive performance by mimicking estrogen's action. This study aimed to investigate the effects of oral supplementation with thyme essential oil on the reproductive organ biometry, and reproductive performance in adult and prepubertal Barki ewes.

Colon cancer typically affects older adults, though it can happen at any age. Colon cancer, also known as Caco-2, is caused by multiple epigenetic alterations and involves unregulated proliferation, differentiation, and invasion of neighboring tissues. Colon cancer patients have had surgery, radiation, hormone therapy, and chemotherapy.

Microscopic robots with features comparable with the wavelength of light offer new ways of probing the microscopic world and controlling light at the microscale. We introduce a new class of magnetically controlled microscopic robots (microbots) that operate at the visible-light diffraction limit, which we term diffractive robots. We combined nanometer-thick mechanical membranes, programmable nanomagnets, and diffractive optical elements to create untethered microbots small enough to diffract visible light and flexible enough to undergo complex reconfigurations in millitesla-scale magnetic fields.

Ion beam-induced deposition (IBID) using Pt(CO)Cl and Pt(CO)Br as precursors has been studied with ultrahigh-vacuum (UHV) surface science techniques to provide insights into the elementary reaction steps involved in deposition, complemented by analysis of deposits formed under steady-state conditions. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and mass spectrometry data from monolayer thick films of Pt(CO)Cl and Pt(CO)Br exposed to 3 keV Ar, He, and H ions indicate that deposition is initiated by the desorption of both CO ligands, a process ascribed to momentum transfer from the incident ion to adsorbed precursor molecules. This precursor decomposition step is accompanied by a decrease in the oxidation state of the Pt(II) atoms and, in IBID, represents the elementary reaction step that converts the molecular precursor into an involatile PtX species.

(Group B Lancefield) has emerged as a significant pathogen affecting both humans and animals, including aquatic species. Infections caused by are becoming a growing concern in aquaculture and have been reported globally in various freshwater and marine fish species, particularly those inhabiting warm water environments. This has led to numerous outbreaks with high morbidity and mortality in fish.

In this project, we conducted micro-beam sensitivity mapping using the Diamond Light Source (DLS) synchrotron. We fabricated three samples with distinct metal contacts: Platinum (HPS-Pt) and Aluminium/Platinum (HPS-Al/Pt) on high-quality single crystal CVD diamond, and Platinum (VS-Pt) on lower purity single crystal CVD diamond. Our objective was to identify the most suitable sample for synchrotron measurements, particularly focusing on the lower purity sample due to its unique characteristics, such as thin nitrogen lines and substrate area.

Macromineral imbalances in ruminants, particularly in tropical and subtropical regions, pose a significant challenge to production sustainability and profitability. Heat stress exacerbates these imbalances, negatively impacting physiological functions and productivity. This review examines the effects of heat stress on macromineral levels in ruminants and the need for supplementation under such conditions.

The objective of this study was to examine the response of geranium plants to different irrigation levels (100%, 80%, and 60% based on ET) and Kaolin application rates (0, 100, 200 and 300 ppm) during 2022 and 2023 seasons, at Aly Mobarak Experimental Farm, Horticulture Research Station, located at El-Bustan site, El-Behiera Governorate, Egypt, by using a two-way factorial analysis experimental design. The results revealed that water deficit significantly reduced most studied traits. Irrigation level at 60% based on ET exhibited poorest performance on growth parameters and decreased fresh yield and essential oil yield by 27.
