Aim: To evaluate the diagnostic performance of MDI and temocillin disk (30 μg) for detection of carbapenem-resistant in comparison to real-time PCR.
Material And Methods: Fifty specimens submitted to the Microbiology Laboratory of Ain Shams University Hospitals and showed resistance to carbapenem drugs through routine culture and susceptibility testing, were assessed by both temocillin disk (30 μg) and MDI set to detect carbapenem-resistant . Results were compared to real-time PCR for detection of carbapenemase genes -48-, , and .
Introduction: Acute ipsilateral shoulder pain (ISP) is a common complaint in patients after thoracotomy. The incidence ranges from 21% to 97%. Unfortunately, clinical studies did not put enough focus on ISP post thoracic surgery.

Study Design: Randomized prospective study.
Methods: This study included 108 eyes of 108 patients with primary fleshy or growing pterygium.
Background: Breast cancer remains one of the top threats to women's health. The current lack of tumor markers with desirable sensitivity and specificity is a major obstacle toward the future management of breast cancer. Many studies are directed to reveal the diagnostic and prognostic potentials of circulating miRNAs in breast cancer.

Here, we investigated the ability of abn-cbd to alleviate diabetes-evoked cardiovascular pathology and the contribution of GPR18 to this effect. Four weeks after diabetes induction by streptozotocin (STZ, 55mg/kg; i.

Sitagliptin was given to the animals at an oral dose of 10mgkg per day for 10days, and in some of these mice, GEN was injected intraperitoneally at a dose of 100mgkg per day during the last seven days of the treatment. Nephrotoxicity was evaluated histopathologically by light microscopy and biochemically by measuring several indices in plasma, urine and renal cortex homogenates.

Whether a downregulated CSE/HS system in the rostral ventrolateral medulla (RVLM) underlies neuronal oxidative stress and sympathoexcitation in diabetes has not been investigated. Along with addressing this question, we tested the hypothesis that moxonidine prevents the diabetes-evoked neurochemical effects by restoring CSE/HS function within its major site of action, the RVLM.

Methods: This research investigated the link between leptin phenotype and the clinicopathological factors in BC.
This study describes a modification of deep sclerectomy, making it completely sutureless, with a 6-month follow-up period. This was a prospective pilot phase that included 24 eyes of 16 patients, 13 male individuals and 3 female individuals, with medically uncontrolled open-angle glaucomas despite maximally tolerated medical therapy. After excising the deep flap, no sutures are added to the superficial scleral flap or to the conjunctiva.

Design: Prospective crossover study.
Setting: Multidisciplinary simulation center and motion analysis laboratory, Mayo Clinic.
Introduction: Breast cancer is one of the most widespread cancers affecting women all over the world. In Egypt, it is considered to be the first cause of malignancies among female. BRCA1 Large Genomic Rearrangements (LGRs) have been reported in hereditary breast families and occurs in considerable proportion of cases in various populations.

Aim: To measure serum levels of cystatin-C and β-2 microglobulin in children with beta-thalassemia major (β-TM) and investigate their significance as early markers of glomerular and tubular dysfunctions.
Subjects And Methods: The study was performed on 70 children with (β-TM) and 20 apparently healthy children matched for age and sex as a control group.
Cyclin D1 overexpression has been described to have oncogenic role and association with diagnosis, prognosis and survival in various tumors. This study will describe the immunohistochemical phenotype of cyclin D1, and investigate the correlation between these patterns of expression and clinicopathological parameters of endometrial carcinomas, to conclude the clinical relevance of cyclin D1 expression in the evolution of endometrial neoplasms. This study employed 101 endometrial tissue samples which include 71 endometrial carcinomas and thirty normal and benign endometrium cases.

However, communications of the digital soil mapping information between diverse audiences become problematic due to the inconsistent scale of DSM information. Spatial downscaling can make use of accessible soil information at relatively coarse spatial resolution to provide valuable soil information at relatively fine spatial resolution.

Patients And Methods: A phase III randomized trial was conducted between January 2013 and June 2015; eligible left-side donors were randomized to laparoscopic or open donor nephrectomy in a 1:1 ratio with recovery optimized within a standardized ERP. The primary outcome was patient-reported measure of physical fatigue, as measured by the physical fatigue domain of the translated Multidimensional Fatigue Inventory 20.
Objective: Programmed cell death ligand-1 interacts with the immune receptors on the surface of CD8+ tumor infiltrating lymphocytes and PD-1, thereby blocking its anti-tumor activity. Therapeutics suppression of this interaction will show a promise in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer by restoring the functional anti-tumor T-cell activity. We aimed to evaluate the association between the immunohistochemical expression of PD-L1, stromal CD8+ tumor infiltrating lymphocytes and p53 with the clinicopathological characteristics, response to chemotherapy, progression-free-survival, and overall survival.

We aimed to investigate the immunohistochemical expression of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT)-related molecules (Twist-1 and E-cadherin) and the stem cell marker EZH2 in prostate cancer and to assess their ability to identify the high-risk patients, in a trial to explore their prognostic implications.
Material And Method: Immunohistochemical expression of Twist-1, E-cadherin and EZH2 in 50 specimens of prostate cancer and 20 cases of benign prostatic hyperplasia were studied.
A new magnetic functionalized derivative of chitosan is synthesized and characterized for the sorption of metal ions (environmental applications and metal valorization). The rapid availability of the drug at the site of action followed by maintaining its effect for a long period of time is of great clinical importance. Thus, the purpose of the present study was to prepare and evaluate multi-layered matrix tablets of diclofenac using Eudragit RL/RS blend to achieve both immediate and sustained therapeutic effects. Diclofenac potassium (25 mg) was incorporated in an outer immediate release layer to provide immediate pain relief whereas diclofenac sodium (75 mg) was incorporated in the inner core to provide extended drug release.

Background: Ethanol (EtOH)-evoked oxidative stress, which contributes to myocardial dysfunction in proestrus rats, is mediated by increases in NADPH oxidase (Nox) activity, malondialdehyde (MDA), and ERK1/2 phosphorylation. Whether these biochemical responses, which are triggered by alcohol-derived acetaldehyde in noncardiac tissues, occur in proestrus rats' hearts remains unknown. Therefore, we elucidated the roles of alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH), cytochrome P4502E1 (CYP2E1), and catalase, which catalyze alcohol oxidation to acetaldehyde, in these alcohol-evoked biochemical and hemodynamic responses in proestrus rats.
