Background: Currently, adrenalectomies are trending toward minimally invasive approach including robotic and laparoscopic surgery. We aimed to describe the clinical presentation and outcomes associated with the 3 different surgical approaches in patients who underwent adrenalectomy for adrenal mass at a single tertiary center.

Methods: A retrospective descriptive observational study was conducted to include all patients who underwent surgical interventions for adrenal gland mass between 2004 and 2019.

Background: Papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) and follicular thyroid carcinoma (FTC) are the first and second most common thyroid cancers comprising about 85% and 10% of all thyroid cancers. Simultaneous occurrence of medullary and papillary thyroid cancer has been reported with various presentations, but simultaneous occurrence of FTC in addition to PTC as differentiated cancers, is an unusual event that is rarely reported.

Presentation Of Cases: We report our experience of six rare cases of synchronous coexistence of FTC and PTC with unique features.

The retrosternal goiter (RSG) is a slow-growing mass often benign in nature; thyroidectomy remains the preferred standard curative treatment. This study aimed to explore the local experience of RSG with respect to the clinical presentation, classifications, management, and outcomes. A retrospective chart review was conducted to include all cases diagnosed with RSG and underwent thyroidectomy between January 1998 and December 2013.

Article Synopsis
  • The study compares the diagnostic accuracy of thyroid fine needle aspiration (FNA) between two methods: palpation-directed and ultrasound (US) guided.
  • It included a retrospective review of 1174 patients who underwent thyroid surgery, analyzing FNA findings against surgical histopathology results.
  • Results showed that while US-guided FNA had a higher suspicion for malignancy and indeterminate results, both methods had comparable diagnostic accuracy overall and showed a notable occurrence of malignancy in cases previously deemed benign.
