Pseudotumor cerebri syndrome in children with systemic lupus erythematosus: case series and review.

Background: Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune inflammatory disease that typically affects multiple organs and can lead to potentially fatal complications. Central nervous system (CNS) involvement in SLE is common, especially in children, and can present nonspecifically with various neuropsychiatric manifestations, described as neuropsychiatric SLE (NPSLE). Chronic headache is a common feature of NPSLE, secondary to increased intracranial pressure (also called pseudotumor cerebri (PTC)) due to inflammation or medication.

A Health Information System for Scalable and Comprehensive Assessment of Well-Being: A Multidisciplinary Team Solution.

To improve the health and well-being of the medically underserved in a free clinic in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a multidisciplinary team representing several health information management and information technology (IT) professionals, including faculty, students, researchers, and clinicians, created a novel IT system called imHealthy. The imHealthy system includes four critical components: a multidomain well-being questionnaire, a mobile app for data collection and tracking, a customization of an open-source electronic health record (EHR), and a data integration and well-being evaluation program leading to recommendations for personalized interventions to caregivers serving the medically underserved. This multidisciplinary team has worked closely on this project and finished critical components of the imHealthy system.

Radiotherapy of nasopharyngeal cancer using Rapidarc: dosimetric study of military teaching hospital Mohamed V, Morocco.

Background: The aim of the present study is to assess efficacy and efficiency of Volumetric-modulated arc therapy (VMAT) technique in treatment of nasopharyngeal cancer in our institution and to report toxicity related to this technique.

Methods: Between June 2013 and January 2015, thirty-two patients with non metastatic nasopharyngeal cancer were curatively treated using VMAT Rapidarc. Dose prescription was performed using two different schedules, it consisted of either simultaneous integrated boost or simultaneous modulated accelerated radiation therapy delivering 70 Gy in 35 fractions and 69.

Patient Engagement: Opportunities and Challenges for Nursing and Health Care Professionals.

Patient (citizen) engagement argued as a critical initiative for the transformation of health care and improving health outcomes. Health care is experiencing patients that have expectations for value, transparency, choice, and engagement. However, meaningfully engaging patients in their own health care has often proven to be difficult.

Evaluation of inpatient clinical documentation readiness for ICD-10-CM.

This research study examined the gaps in documentation that occur when coding in ICD-10-CM. More than 4,000 diagnoses from all chapters were coded from 656 electronic documents obtained from a large integrated healthcare facility at the time the study was conducted (2012). After the documents were coded, areas for documentation improvement were identified for chapters that resulted in deficiencies in documentation, and a quick reference guide was developed.

Flexible approaches for teaching computational genomics in a health information management program.

The astonishing improvement of high-throughput biotechnologies in recent years makes it possible to access a huge amount of genomic data. The association between genomic data and genetic disease has already been and will continue to be applied to personalized healthcare. Health information management (HIM) professionals are the ones who will handle personal genetic information and provide solid evidence to support physicians' diagnoses and personalized treatment strategies, and therefore they will need to have the knowledge and skills to process genomic data.

Ovarian tumours in children : a review of 18 cases.

Background: To review the experience of Children's Hospital of Rabat in managing ovarian tumours in children.

Materials And Methods: There were 18 patients between 2 and 15 years of age who presented with an ovarian tumour at Children's Hospital of Rabat between January 2000 and December 2008. Data collected from the hospital medical records included age at diagnosis, patient's history, presenting complaints, radiological examination, tumour markers, management, operative procedure, histopathological examination and outcome of the patients.

Adding a genomic healthcare component to a health information management curriculum.

The inclusion of genomic information will become routine in electronic health records (EHRs). Educating health information management (HIM) students about how to best manage, protect, properly release, and use this information for patient care is of utmost importance. This study examined the usefulness of incorporating genomic modules into an existing course in quality management.

[Hydatid cyst of the kidney in children: a retrospective study of 10 cases].

Introduction: The hydatid cyst disease of the kidney is rare in children, it ranks third among the liver and the lung.

Material: We report a series of 10 pediatric case of hydatid cyst of the kidney, managed in the department of surgery pediatric of Rabat, between 1990 and 2008.

Results: The median age was 9 years (4-15 years).

[Splenogonadal fusion: a case report].

Splenogonadal fusion is a rare congenital abnormality. Preoperative diagnosis is difficult but can be based on scintigraphy using technetium 99m. In most cases, the splenic tissue can be dissected off the gonadal structures easily, and if there are any doubts concerning the nature of the swelling, an intraoperative frozen section can be performed to avoid an unnecessary orchidectomy.

[Peritoneal hydatidosis in children. Report of a historical case].

Regional analysis of functions and demographics of health information managers.

Based on the findings of this study, HIM professionals' tasks or functions tend to vary across regions and in relation to levels of experience. As experience increased for RRAs, the task performed by them tended to be more management related. All other HIM professionals performed tasks that were more related to data collection than management.
