Introduction: The impact of the distance of the tumor from the main hepatic vessels (DTV), such as the Glissonean pedicle or hepatic veins, on oncological outcomes for Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients is relatively understudied. Therefore, the objective of this study was to explore the correlation between DTV and survival in patients with HCC after curative hepatic resection.
Methods: Consecutive patients who underwent curative-intent liver surgery for HCC between April 2018 and May 2023 were identified from a prospective database.
Background: In recent studies addressing colorectal liver metastases and HCC, R1 vascular surgery has demonstrated safety and oncological adequacy. Recognizing that patient prognosis after liver surgery for HCC depends more on preserving an adequate future liver remnant than on the width of the surgical margin, this surgical approach has achieved rising interest. However, data for its feasibility and safety for minimally invasive approaches for HCC resections are limited.

Method: ology: A systematic search was conducted across the databases to collect baseline and postoperative outcome measures. Articles were then filtered and data from post-filtration was extracted.
Background: Microvascular invasion is a major histopathological risk factor of postoperative recurrence in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma. This study aimed to develop and validate a digital biopsy model using imaging features to predict microvascular invasion before hepatectomy.
Methods: A total of 217 consecutive patients who underwent hepatectomy for resectable hepatocellular carcinoma were enrolled at two tertiary-care reference centers.
Although melanocytic nevi have a relatively uneventful course throughout their existence, some may develop an inflammatory reaction known as the Meyerson phenomenon. Initially, the Meyerson phenomenon has been exclusively described in melanocytic nevi. However, it has since been observed in both pigmented and non-pigmented lesions, thus expanding the description from Meyerson nevus to the phenomenon.

However, the predisposing factors for stricture formation are not fully understood. Previous studies have shown anastomotic leakage (AL) to be a risk factor for the occurrence of AS.

Objective: To perform a longitudinal study for determining the development of ocular graft-versus-host disease (oGVHD) after allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) and report cases that illustrate the "window of opportunity" concept in oGVHD treatment.
Methods: Patients (n=61) were examined at prescheduled clinic visits before HSCT and three-month intervals after HSCT for 2 years. The presence or absence of oGVHD was determined using the international chronic oGVHD consensus group diagnostic criteria.
Background/objectives: Pancreatic surgery may have a long-lasting effect on patients' health status and quality of life (QoL). We aim to evaluate patient-reported outcomes (PRO) 3 months after pancreatic surgery.
Methods: Patients scheduled for pancreatic surgery were enrolled in a prospective trial at five German centers.
Social media networks such as Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp, and YouTube are among the most commonly used social networks among people. If used properly, they can contribute to enhancing individual knowledge and scientific values. The study aimed to investigate the use of social media networks for healthy nutritional practices among deaf and hearing students.

Known as a neglected disease, it is highly prevalent in Algeria with a significant public health concern and substantial financial losses. The objectives of this study was to explore knowledge and awareness and practice of the Algerian population regarding this disease.

The evidence of robotic or laparoscopic (= minimally invasive) repeat hepatectomies (MIRH) after previous open hepatectomy is poor. Therefore, we compared postoperative outcomes of MIRH vs open repeat hepatectomies (ORH) in patients with liver tumors after previous open liver resections.

Objective: To develop and validate a prediction model for PPH.
Background: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disorder. It is often reported to be worsened by psychological stress.
Objective: To explore the role of psychological stress and related triggers in AD, and its connection to worsening of this disease, focusing on patients' perspectives.
Purpose: To investigate the associations, fellow eye retinal tear or detachment, and surgical outcomes of rhegmatogenous retinal detachments (RRDs) in young adults.
Design: Retrospective consecutive case series.
Subjects: Patients aged ≤ 30 years who underwent surgical repair for RRD between 2014 and 2021 at a single practice.

Background: Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic, inflammatory, often severely itching skin disorder. It may worsen due to stress, depression, or anxiety. Calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) may be involved in inflammation signaling.

The elements in canned tuna fish commercialized for human consumption in Algeria were determined by ICP-OES methods, The results showed that the heavy metal concentration in the samples under study ranged from 49.11 to 289.

Purpose: The present study aims at investigating how Algerian women feel about Breast Cancer (BC) and Breast Self-Examination (BSE) in terms of knowledge and attitude and to determine the factors associated with performing BSE and its reluctance.
Methods: We carried out a cross-sectional survey between October 14, 2021 and November 14, 2022, targeting Algerian females aged more than 18 years and living in the country using a self-administered questionnaire.
Results: A total of 436 participants were involved in this study among which 41.
The transition period in ewes is associated with a lot of changes, such as metabolic disorder due to the mobilization of body reserves, behavior trouble, food intake, and some changes in body condition score (BCS). This knowledge led us to hypothesize the influence of BCS in ewes during late pregnancy on the variations of biochemical parameters and its influence on the survival of lambs. In order to assess how BCS affected changes in biochemical parameters and lamb stillbirth, blood samples were collected in heparin tubes from forty-nine randomly chosen ewes of the Rembi breed that were clinically healthy and at the end of their pregnancies.

Methods: This retrospective study analysed the data from patients aged ≤18 years that underwent appendectomies. The data collected included age, sex, application of enhanced recovery concepts (ERCs) and clinical outcomes.
Objectives: This study was carried out to assess the level of knowledge of Algerian healthcare workers about human monkeypox, and their attitude toward its vaccination.
Methods: An online-based cross-sectional study using social media platforms targeting Algerian healthcare workers was conducted between 28 June and 18 September 2022.
Results: 111 healthcare workers have answered the questionnaire.
COVID-19 booster vaccines have been adopted in almost all countries to enhance the immune response and combat the emergence of new variants. Algeria adopted this strategy in November 2021. This study was conducted to consider the self-reported side effects of COVID-19 booster vaccines by Algerians who were vaccinated with a booster dose of one of the approved inactivated-virus vaccines, such as BBIBP-CorV and CoronaVac, or one of the adenoviral-vector-based vaccines, such as Gam-COVID-Vac, AZD1222 and Ad26.

The current study aimed to assess the intentions to get COVID-19 vaccines and its determinants among the general public in Algeria.
Methods: A self-administered online survey was distributed during August-September 2021 using a convenience-based sampling approach.
Since COVID-19 was declared a pandemic in March 2020, frontline health care workers wear personal protective equipment (PPE, surgical masks, N95 or similar respirators, gloves, goggles, face shields, and gowns). Alcohol-based sanitizers and wipes were recommended. Such measures lead to disruption of the natural skin habitat and skin barrier and various cutaneous reactions.
