Graphene-based materials have been widely studied in the field of supercapacitors. However, their electrochemical properties and applications are still restricted by the susceptibility of graphene-based materials to curling and agglomeration during production. This study introduces a facile method for synthesizing reduced graphene oxide (rGO) nanosheets and activated carbon based on olive stones (OS) with polyaniline (PAni) surface decoration for the development of supercapacitors.

Article Synopsis
  • Recent advancements in nanotechnology have led to the development of a new nanocomposite combining tungsten trioxide nanoparticles with graphene oxide and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) for enhanced energy storage performance.
  • This innovative composite achieved a specific capacitance of 478.3 F·g, outperforming the traditional tungsten trioxide-graphene oxide combination, which had a capacitance of 345.3 F·g.
  • Additionally, the poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)@tungsten trioxide-graphene oxide composite demonstrated excellent cycling stability, maintaining 92.1% capacity after 5000 cycles, making it a promising material for super

In this study, new adsorbents were prepared by modifying a montmorillonite clay (Mt) with cethyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) to form CTAB-Mt, followed by a second modification process with polyaniline (PAni) to form PAni@CTAB-Mt by in situ polymerization of aniline. X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), cyclic voltammetry (CV) and the Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) technique were used to characterize the samples. These adsorbents were used in a batch process to remove methylene blue (MB) from aqueous solution.

In the current study, polyaniline and polypyrrole with silicon dioxide (PAni:PPy@SiO) were combined to formulate a new adsorbent, which was examined using XRD, TEM, SEM, FTIR, TGA, and BET, and the adsorption kinetics were investigated by UV-vis spectroscopy. The optical band gap was also evaluated. The electrochemical behavior was investigated using cyclic voltammograms.

This research reports the facile, controlled, low-cost fabrication, and evaluation of properties of polyaniline matrix deposited on titanium dioxide and copper(II) oxide ternary-composite (PANI@TiO-CuO)-based electrode material for supercapacitor application. The process involves the preparation of CuO in the presence of TiO to form TiO-CuO by a facile method, followed by in-situ oxidative polymerization of aniline monomer. The structural and physical properties were evaluated based on the results of FTIR spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), transmission electron (TEM) and scanning electron (SEM) microscopy, thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and BET surface areas analysis.

A comparative study was performed in order to analyze the effect of metal oxide (MO) on the properties of a polymeric matrix. In this study, polyaniline (PANI)@AlO, PANI@TiC, and PANI@TiO nanocomposites were synthesized using in situ polymerization with ammonium persulfate as an oxidant. The prepared materials were characterized by various analytical methods such as X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), UV/visible (UV/Vis) spectroscopy, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).

Hybrid silica-modified materials were synthesized on glassy carbon (GC) electrodes by electroassisted deposition of sol-gel precursors. Single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) were dispersed in a silica matrix (SWCNT@SiO) to enhance the electrochemical performance of an inorganic matrix. The electrochemical behavior of the composite electrodes was tested against the ferrocene redox probe.
