Background: Thromboembolism was a chief cause of mortality in 70% of patients with COVID-19. Our objective was to see if serum interleukins 1 beta (IL-1β) and soluble platelets selectin (sP-selectin) could serve as novel markers of thromboembolism in COVID-19 patients.
Methods: This cross sectional study involved 89 COVID-19 patients who were recruited from 1st of February to 1st of May 2021.
Background: We aimed to investigate the effect of transforaminal injection of Magnesium sulphate versus Ozone on pain intensity, functional disability and the oxidative stress biomarkers; superoxide dismutase (SOD) and Glutathione (GSH) in patients with lumbar disc prolapse.
Methods: This randomized controlled trial was conducted on 135 patients having symptomatic lumbar disc prolapse, received either transforaminal injection of Magnesium sulphate with steroids, Ozone with steroids, or steroids alone. Assessment of pain severity and functional disability were done before intervention, 2 weeks, 1, 3, and 6 months after intervention.
Objectives: To assess risk factors for persistent neuropathic pain in subjects recovered from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and to study the serum level of neurofilament light chain (NFL) in those patients.
Design: Case-control study.
Setting: Persistent post-COVID-19 pain.
Steroidogenic acute regulatory protein (StAR), P450 side-chain cleavage enzyme (P450scc) and 3 beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase enzyme (3beta-HSD) are all involved in the transport of cholesterol and production of progesterone. In situ production of sex steroids including progesterone have been considered to play important roles in pathogenesis and/or development of common epithelial ovarian carcinomas. In this study, StAR, P450scc, and 3beta-HSD were immunolocalized in 100 cases of ovarian carcinoma and results were then correlated with clinicopathological and prognostic parameters of individual patients including status of progesterone receptor (PR) in tumor cells.

Recent studies have demonstrated the important roles of Ad4BP/SF-1 and DAX-1 in regulation of steroidogenesis. In this study, we evaluated DAX-1, Ad4BP/SF-1, StAR, and steroidogenic enzyme expressions and their correlations in epithelial ovarian carcinomas to evaluate the possible roles of these factors in regulation of intratumoral steroid metabolism and/or production.

Most of the research has focused on determining the relationship between crashes and highway traffic volumes, while little attention has been focused on the relationships of vehicle density, level of service (LOS), vehicle occupancy, V/C ratio and speed distribution. Despite overall progress, there is still no clear understanding about the effects of different traffic flow characteristics on safety.

Its expression has been detected primarily in endocrine neoplasms such as adrenocortical as well as pituitary tumors in human, but its biological roles have not been examined well in sex steroid-dependent neoplasms. The aim of this study is to detect the expression of DAX-1 in common epithelial ovarian carcinomas in order to evaluate its possible biological significance.
