Purpose: The current study was directed to investigate the effectiveness of docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) as a chemopreventive agent on experimentally induced hamster buccal pouch (HBP) carcinogenesis.

Material And Methods: In this study we used 40 Syrian male hamsters, five weeks old, were divided into 4 groups (GI, GII, GIII, and GIV) of 10 animals in each as follows, GI: Topical application of liquid paraffin alone (thrice a week for 14 weeks), GII: Topical application of 7, 12 dimethyl benz[a]anthracene (DMBA) alone (0.5% in liquid paraffin, thrice a week for 14 weeks), GIII: Topical application of DMBA (0.

(1) Background: The present study was carried out to evaluate the roles of proliferation and angiogenesis in locally aggressive biologic behavior of ameloblastoma versus ameloblastic fibroma; (2) Methods: 30 formalin-fixed paraffin embedded blocks (15 cases of ameloblastoma and 15 cases of ameloblastic fibroma) were used. To evaluate the proliferation, the tissue sections were stained with an AgNORs stain. CD105 was used as an immunohistochemical marker of angiogenesis.

Purpose: To externally evaluate the performance of two European risk prediction models, for identifying patients at high-risk of medication harm, in an Australian hospital setting.

Methods: This was a secondary analysis of a pre-existing cohort study described in a recently published study by Falconer et al. (Br J Clin Pharmacol 87(3):1512-1524, 2021) describing the development of a predictive risk model for inpatient medication harm.

The acetohydrazide derivative reacted with carbon electrophiles such as acid chlorides, acetylacetone, ethyl acetoacetate and aromatic aldehydes to give some interesting heterocyclic compounds. The hydrazide derivative reacted with acetophenone which in turn underwent Vielsmeier-Haack reaction. Also, the phthalazinethione has been synthesized and its behavior towards hydrazine hydrate, oxidizing agent and ethyl chloroacetate has been investigated.

Background: Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a major risk factor for stroke. Cost-effectiveness studies of anticoagulants for stroke prevention in AF rarely utilise AF-stroke-specific cost data in their analyses, as data are limited. Data that exist do not account for AF found on prolonged cardiac monitoring after stroke, further underestimating the clinical and economic burden of AF-stroke.

Most duodenal diverticula are acquired, extraluminal, and false, but the congenital variety is rare, whether it is intraluminal or extraluminal. We present two cases of extraluminal congenital duodenal diverticula and one of the intraluminal type, and we also review the literature. The clinical presentation involves rather nonspecific abdominal symptoms, and most of these diverticula are incidental findings on upper gastrointestinal series.

Sperm agglutinating, haemagglutinating and immobilizing antibodies were detected more frequently and in higher titres in the sera of azoospermic patients with urinogenital bilharziasis than in the sera of unaffected males. There is evidence that bilharziasis enhances the autoimmune response of the individual.
