Yellow ochre is the basic material used in the manufacture of yellow oxide (a commercial product). Yellow ochre samples were taken from three different formations in southwestern Sinai: Abu Hamata, Um Bogma, and Abu Zarab. Yellow ochre occasionally exists in Abu Hamata Formation particularly in El Ferah area, associated with Fe-Mn ore in Wadi El Sahu (Um Bogma Formation) and in Himayer area (Abu Zarab Formation).

The antimicrobial resistance of pathogenic microorganisms against commercial drugs has become a major problem worldwide. This study is the first of its kind to be carried out in Egypt to produce antimicrobial pharmaceuticals from isolated native taxa of the fungal , followed by a chemical investigation of the existing bioactive metabolites. Here, of the 155 clinical specimens in total, 100 pathogenic microbial isolates were found to be multi-drug resistant (MDR) bacteria.

Purpose: Recovery from off-pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB) has been reported to be more advantageous than conventional coronary artery bypass grafting with regard to both hospital and intensive care unit length of stay. Dexmedetomidine is a selective α-2 agonist that has been used successfully as an adjunct to narcotics in adult and pediatric cardiac surgery. We assessed the food safety knowledge and food handling practices of 23 food handlers in 2 hospitals in Alexandria, Egypt [Gamal Abdel Nasser (GAN) and Medical Research Institute (MRI)] before and after a food safety training programme, and also the bacteriological quality of patient meals and kitchen equipment. There was a significant improvement in all knowledge-associated parameters except for personal hygiene in GAN. There was an improvement in the food safety practices in both hospitals.
