Pleomorphic hyalinizing angiectatic tumor of soft parts: case report and literature review.

Pleomorphic hyalinizing angiectatic tumor (PHAT) of soft parts is a rare soft tissue neoplasm. Few cases have been reported in the literature thus far. PHAT is a spindle cell neoplasm with a prominent vascular component which displays some features of both neurilemoma and malignant fibrous histiocytoma.

Dermatology for the urologist.

Dermatoses of the male genital area are widely diverse clinically and etiologically. Both dermatologists and urologists are involved in diagnosing and treating those dermatoses. Anal involvement in pemphigus vulgaris.

Introduction: Anal involvement in patients with pemphigus vulgaris has rarely been reported. We report 16 pemphigus vulgaris patients with anal involvement.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the clinical data on 16 patients treated at a tertiary dermatology referral center.

Localized morphea: a rare adverse effect of valproic acid.

Morphea, a specific type of cutaneous sclerosis, is known in the pediatric age group, but not as an adverse effect to the antiepileptic valproic acid. We report a 14-year-old male patient with absence seizures who, after treatment with valproic acid, developed skin tightness on the fingers. A biopsy specimen revealed dermal sclerosis consistent with morphea.
