Introduction: Nipocalimab is a high-affinity, fully human, aglycosylated, effectorless, immunoglobulin G (IgG) 1 monoclonal antibody that targets the neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn), decreases systemic IgG including autoantibodies, and is under development in several IgG autoantibody- and alloantibody-mediated diseases, including generalized myasthenia gravis, chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, maternal-fetal medicine, and multiple other therapeutic areas. An initial phase 1 study with single and multiple ascending doses of nipocalimab infused intravenously (IV) over 2 h demonstrated dose-dependent serum pharmacokinetics and IgG reductions, with an adverse event (AE) profile comparable to placebo.
Methods: The current investigation evaluates the safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of single doses of nipocalimab across various IV infusion rates in a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, sequential-dose study.

DDT (1,1,1-trichloro-2,2-bis(4-chlorophenyl) ethane) is probably the best known and most useful organochlorine insecticide in the world which was used since 1945 for agricultural purposes and also for vector-borne disease control such as malaria since 1955, until its banishment in most countries by the Stockholm convention for ecologic considerations. However, the World Health Organization allowed its reintroduction only for control of vector-borne diseases in some tropical countries in 2006. Due to its physicochemical properties and specially its persistence related with a half-life up to 30 years, DDT linked to several health and social problems which are due to its accumulation in the environment and its biomagnification properties in living organisms.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe mutant bacteriophage Mugem2(Ts), known to synchronize the division of infected cells, to relax DNA supercoiling and, as prophage, to give rise to precisely excised revertants, has been thought to overexpress the gemA-mor operon, and genetic evidence suggests that the B subunit of DNA gyrase (GyrB) is the target of action of GemA. In two different double hybrid tests presented here, we find no evidence of GemA-GyrB protein-protein interaction. We do observe a GemA-GemA interaction, however, indicating that GemA can dimerize.
