In this study, we aimed to investigate the current genetic diversity and provide additional insights into the origins of the Algerian population by analyzing the frequencies of HLA -A,-B,-DRB1,-DQB1 alleles and associated haplotypes. We analyzed 1,082 unrelated healthy Algerian individuals, who were potential kidney donors, recruited and assessed in the Immunology Department of CHU Mustapha in Algiers over a 10-year period (2009-2019). HLA genotyping was performed by Polymerase Chain Reaction Sequence Specific Primers (PCR-SSP).

Background: The Jordanian healthcare system has evolved over the past decades expanding its services, technological, and educational resources. A comprehensive view of this system is lacking. The objective of this report is to describe the structure of the Jordanian healthcare system, the challenges facing it, and the current and recommended health policies.

Its pathogenesis involves immunological, genetic, and environmental factors. We investigate the association between Tumor Necrosis Factor α Protein 3 (TNFAIP3), Interleukin 10 (IL10), Tumor Necrosis Factor α (TNF α), and Interleukin 17 F (IL17F) polymorphisms with susceptibility to RA.

This species is highly susceptible to viral hemorrhagic septicemia (VHS), a severe systemic disease widespread globally throughout the world. Viral hemorrhagic septicemia virus (VHSV) is the etiological agent and, recently, three classes of VHSV virulence (high, moderate, and low) have been proposed based on the mortality rates, which are strictly dependent on the viral strain.

Water contamination by multiple pollutants is a serious environmental issue originating from the many diverse sources of pollution. It has worsened with the appearance of new contaminants, named emerging micropollutants, such as drug residues which are considered a potential threat to human health and/or ecosystems. These require prior treatment before release into the environment.

Since its first report in Israel in 2014, Tilapia Lake Virus has spread globally causing mortality rates up to 90%.

Autopsy examination is an invaluable tool to understand the pathogenesis of emerging infections and their consequent mortalities. The aim of the current study was to present the lung and heart pathological findings of COVID-19-positive autopsies performed in Jordan.

Little is known about the effect of rapid weight reduction on bone mass density (BMD), especially during childhood and adolescence. The current study aimed to investigate the impact of rapid weight loss on BMD among cadets and juniors TKD athletes.

Biliary amputation neuroma is rare and difficult to diagnose preoperatively due to diversity of clinical presentation and a lack of awareness among healthcare providers. We present a case of biliary neuroma arising from a recent laparoscopic cholecystectomy, complicated by bile leak and recurrent cholangitis. An extensive review of the literature was performed, closely examining related etiology, trends in age, clinical symptomology, and time to presentation.

DNA vaccines are protective under experimental conditions, but testing under intensive farming conditions remains uninvestigated. Two DNA vaccines encoding the glycoproteins (G) of recent Italian VHSV and IHNV isolates were developed and tested for potency and safety under experimental conditions.

Systemic lymphohistiocytic infiltration is a rare peculiar condition that can raise the possibility of more specific entities such as autoimmune disease, drug interaction, viral or mycobacterial infection, or malignancy. A hyper-inflammatory state can ensue leading to multi-organ failure. We report the case of a 42-year-old Jordanian male with a past history of moderate Covid-19 infection presenting with binocular diplopia and acute loss of vision in the left eye.

It has been demonstrated that can act as a nervous necrosis virus (NNV)-vector to Senegalese sole larvae. Therefore, in this study, we aimed to clarify the role of rotifers in NNV transmission to sea bass larvae following an oral challenge.

Outbreaks of betanodavirus represent one of the main infectious threats for this species. The red-spotted grouper nervous necrosis virus genotype (RGNNV) is the most widely spread in Southern Europe, while the striped jack nervous necrosis virus genotype (SJNNV) has been rarely detected.

Importation enables a risk of spreading pathogenic agents. Viral nervous necrosis (VNN), caused by betanodavirus is devastating for the farming of European sea bass.

The stigmatizing attitude towards people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) can be a major barrier to effective patient care. As future physicians, medical students represent a core group that should be targeted with focused knowledge and adequate training to provide patient care without prejudice. The aim of the current study was to examine HIV/AIDS knowledge, and the stigmatizing attitude towards PLWHA, among medical students in Jordan.

The availability of prophylactic vaccines for high-risk types of human papillomavirus (HPV) infection represents an important advancement in the prevention of cervical cancer. In Jordan, the availability of the HPV vaccination is restricted to individuals who are willing to pay.

This species has long been considered resistant to Nervous Necrosis Virus (NNV), an RNA virus that causes massive mortalities in several farmed fish animals. However, the recent appearance of RGNNV/SJNNV reassortant strains started to pose a serious threat to sea bream hatcheries, as it is able to infect larvae and juveniles of this species.

We hypothesized that application of these guidelines would significantly reduce the I activity utilized by an academic tertiary hospital in Jordan.
Methods: All DTC patients managed at Jordan University Hospital (JUH) between 1/2009 and 6/2019 were classified according to the 2015 ATA risk category and I activity was assigned accordingly.
Mortality in wild fish populations represents a challenging issue for public fish health inspectors. When a single fish species is involved, an infective aetiology is frequently suspected, with focus on viral notifiable diseases. However, other viral agents not subjected to regulation and causing mortality in common carp have been reported such as carp edema virus (CEV).
