This paper presents a novel technique for dark current compensation of a CMOS image sensor (CIS) by using in-pixel temperature sensors (IPTSs) over a temperature range from -40 °C to 90 °C. The IPTS makes use of the 4T pixel as a temperature sensor. Thus, the 4T pixel has a double functionality, either as a pixel or as a temperature sensor.

Harvests of this clam have declined substantially over the last decade. Therefore, an analysis of common parasites and pathological conditions of this clam was undertaken along with histopathology.

The main objective of this study was to describe general characteristics and ventilatory variables in COVID-19 patients who required invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV) and compare differences between waves. Secondarily, factors associated with mortality in intensive care unit (ICU) were studied.

The dynamic regulation of plasma membrane nano-environments has recently emerged as a key fundamental aspect of plant signaling, but the molecular components governing it are still mostly unclear. The receptor kinase FERONIA (FER) controls ligand-induced complex formation of the immune receptor kinase FLAGELLIN SENSING 2 (FLS2) with its co-receptor BRASSINOSTEROID-INSENSITIVE 1-ASSOCIATED KINASE 1 (BAK1), and perception of the endogenous peptide hormone RAPID ALKALANIZATION FACTOR 23 (RALF23) by FER inhibits immunity.

RAPID ALKALINIZATION FACTOR (RALF) peptides have recently emerged as important players in multiple physiological processes. Numerous studies have increased our understanding of the evolutionary processes that shaped the RALF family of peptides.

Few studies have addressed this problem in Latin America, so it is of interest to know how the disease plays out in this region.
Objective: The purpose of our study is to evaluate the course of COVID-19 in patients admitted to a tertiary center in Chile and to assess factors measured close to hospital admission that may be associated with death and the need for invasive mechanical ventilation.
Background The ambulatory arterial stiffness index (AASI), derived from 24 h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) can be a good indicator of arterial stiffness. Aim To assess the correlation between AASI and brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV), ankle-brachial index (ABI) and cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus without hypertension. Material and Methods Cross sectional study in 28 diabetic patients aged 49 ± 7 years (40% women).

The goal of the temperature sensors is to be used to compensate for dark (current) fixed pattern noise (FPN) during the exposure of the CIS. The temperature sensors are based on substrate parasitic bipolar junction transistor (BJT) and on the nMOS source follower of the pixel.

The aims of this study were to assess the correlations between (1) SPF and UVA-PF results obtained in a theoretical sunscreen simulator with those observed in vivo (SPF and UVA-PF) and in vitro (UVA-PF) and (2) the results of UVA-PF observed in vitro and in vivo for products in different galenic forms containing or not pigments.
Methods: BASF Sunscreen Simulator software was used to evaluate the theoretical performance of formulations regarding SPF and UVA protection.
The presentation of myxoma in the neonatal period is quite rare. We report the case of a female patient in whom two cardiac tumors were diagnosed prenatally. Surgery was performed at eight days of age, using cardiopulmonary bypass and circulatory arrest to facilitate excision of two polypoid tumors from within the right atrium.

The dose produced by this activity can affect workers in the area surrounding the storage pool, where activated rods are stored. Monte Carlo (MC) models for neutron activation and dose assessment around the storage pool have been developed and validated.

The dose produced by this activity is not important inside the reactor, but it has to be taken into account when the rod is withdrawn from the reactor.

Therefore, when they are withdrawn from the reactor, they must be stored into the storage pool for irradiated fuel at a certain depth under water. Dose rates on the pool surface and the area surrounding the pool should be lower than limits for workers.

The study on the perception of 264 (33.2%) nursing students from the Professionalization and Regular groups regarding predicting factors of drugs consumption shows these students consume alcohol and tobacco and view alcohol as a leading factor in the consumption of drugs. The Professionalization group consumes tranquilizers and stimulants at a higher rate than the Regular group.

In order to adapt our clinical practice to these new data, a protocol of management of CKD between Nephrology and Primary Health Care has been developed. The protocol includes several items like cardiac and renal protection strategies, diagnosis and treatment of complications, use of drugs and clear derivation criteria.
