Background: Antiphospholipid syndrome (APLS) is rarely complicated by catastrophic antiphospholipid syndrome (CAPS). Peripartum CAPS is rarer still and can masquerade as other obstetric disorders. A high degree of suspicion is critical for early diagnosis and specific management given the significant morbidity and mortality associated with this disorder.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFObjective: The prognostic impact of intra-operative tumor spillage (ITS) during minimally invasive surgery (MIS) for endometrial cancer (EC) is not well studied. The objective of this study was to determine if there is an association between ITS and EC recurrence.
Methods: We performed a case-control study of patients with a laparoscopic or robot-assisted hysterectomy with EC on final pathology between 2017 and 2022 and compared those with (case) and without (control) a subsequent EC recurrence.
Introduction: Patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) are associated with improved overall survival in patients with metastatic malignancy; however, routine collection of PROMs is nascent. Little is known about PROs in women with gynecologic malignancy outside of a trial setting, limiting our understanding of how routine populations experience treatment, disease and morbidity. The goal of this study was to prospectively collect and describe disease-specific PROs in a non-trial population of women with gynecologic malignancy.

Although negative affect mediated in part by corticotropin-releasing factor (CRF) is a strong motivator for alcohol consumption in adults, comparisons of alcohol withdrawal in adolescents and adults generally have not included CRF-related measures such as anxiety.
