Purpose: In the UK, it is common practice to obtain full-length femur radiographs in patients admitted with neck of femur fractures (NOF) and co-existing malignancy. Study Design And Methods: A study with a single-case experimental design ('n of 1'), in which a heterosexual couple act as their own control and the study is then replicated in subsequent couples, was conducted. Thirty-five couples were assessed for eligibility to participate.
Background: Tools for assessment of technical skills are a crucial part of surgical education. They provide trainees with quantitative feedback highlighting both proficiency and areas for improvement. For this to be relevant to day-to-day practice, the tools used have to be validated and relevant to each surgical situation.
