Relationships between gonadotropins, sex hormones, and vascular structure and function in adolescents of varying weight statuses have not been fully investigated. In the present study, we examined associations among these in female and male adolescents with normal weight or obesity. The recent improvement in experimental capabilities for interrogating and controlling molecular systems with ultrafast coherent light sources calls for the development of theoretical approaches that can accurately and efficiently treat electronic coherence. However, the most popular and practical nonadiabatic molecular dynamics techniques, Tully's fewest-switches surface hopping and Ehrenfest mean-field dynamics, are unable to describe the dynamics proceeding from an initial electronic coherence. While such issues are not encountered with the analogous coupled-trajectory algorithms or numerically exact quantum dynamics methods, applying such techniques necessarily comes with a higher computational cost.

Pediatric obesity is a major public health problem, affecting nearly 20% of children and adolescents living in the United States. In 2023, the American Academy of Pediatrics released its first clinical practice guideline for the evaluation and management of child and adolescent obesity and recommended integrating health behavior and lifestyle interventions with pharmacological treatment when medically indicated. However, there is a limited evidence base to guide antiobesity medication treatment decisions in clinical practice and limited data on long-term safety during this critical period of growth and development in youth.

Importance: Adolescent severe obesity is usually not effectively treated with traditional lifestyle modification therapy. Meal replacement therapy (MRT) shows short-term efficacy for body mass index (BMI; calculated as weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared) reduction in adolescents, and financial incentives (FIs) may be an appropriate adjunct intervention to enhance long-term efficacy.

In response to a community prediction challenge, we simulate the nonadiabatic dynamics of cyclobutanone using the mapping approach to surface hopping (MASH).
