  • Zuranolone (SAGE-217) is a newly FDA-approved antidepressant for postpartum depression (PPD) and is currently being tested for its effectiveness in treating Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) and essential tremors (ET).
  • A review of four clinical trials with 1,357 patients showed that Zuranolone significantly improved depression ratings (HAM-D, MADRS, HAM-A) compared to a placebo on the 15th day of treatment.
  • While Zuranolone was associated with a higher response and remission rate, it also had a significant occurrence of treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs), indicating some safety concerns compared to placebo.

Neurodegenerative ailments are a diverse set of syndromes distinguished by gradual deterioration of the structure as well as functions of the central nervous system or peripheral nervous system. Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Parkinson's disease (PD) have no cure, common, and are high prevalent neurodegenerative pathologies. In current research, rationally designed thiazolidine-2,4-dione based analogs were synthesized and tested for their inhibition potential against two isoforms of monoamine oxidase (MAO-A / MAO-B).

In current study, we synthesized chalcone derivatives (13a-c) via base-catalyzed Claisen-Schmidt condensation reaction. We further treated diamino compounds with synthesized chalcones to produce 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-one (18a-c), 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2(1H)-thione (19a-c) and 2-aminopyrimidine (20a-c) derivatives of pregnenolone by cyclization reaction. Cell viability test of synthesized steroidal chalcones and their pyrimidine and thiopyrimidine derivatives against human breast (MCF-7), human lung (A549) and human prostate (PC-3) cancer cell lines was performed using (4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT), assay.

Objective: The male reproductive system generates, accumulates, and transports the sperm. In this study, 2 methods of surgically retrieving sperm, namely, testicular sperm aspiration (TESA) and percutaneous epididymal sperm aspiration (PESA), are discussed and studied in men aged ≤38 years to achieve successful conception using assisted reproductive technology. The purpose was to assess the fertilization rate (FA), clinical pregnancy, and live birth rate (LBR) with sperm.

Objective: The usual seminal profile has been customarily used for diagnosing male infertility based on an examination of semen samples. However, sperm DNA fragmentation has also been causally linked to reproductive failure, suggesting that it should be evaluated as part of male infertility assessments. To compare the ability of the five most widely utilized methodologies of measuring DNA fragmentation to predict male infertility and reactive oxygen species by Oxisperm kit assay.
