The traditional view of hematopoiesis is that myeloid cells derive from a common myeloid progenitor (CMP), whereas all lymphoid cell populations, including B, T, and natural killer (NK) cells and possibly plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs), arise from a common lymphoid progenitor (CLP). In Max41 transgenic mice, nearly all B cells seem to be diverted into the granulocyte lineage. Here, we show that these mice have an excess of myeloid progenitors, but their CLP compartment is ablated, and they have few pDCs.

Proximal spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) is a leading genetic cause for infant death in the world and results from the selective loss of motor neurons in the spinal cord. Purpose: The prison-to-community transition period is one of high risk and need, particularly for those with mental illness. Some individuals cycle in and out of prison for short periods with little opportunity for mental health stabilization or service planning either in prison or the community. This study describes the socio-demographic, clinical and criminal justice characteristics of individuals with mental illness and frequent, brief periods of imprisonment, examines continuity of mental health care between prison and the community for this group, and reports on their post-release mental health and criminal justice outcomes.

While disruptions in functional connectivity within and between large-scale brain networks predict poorer treatment outcome, it is unclear whether higher trait neuroticism, which has been associated with generally poorer outcomes, contributes to these disruptions and to antidepressant-specific treatment outcomes. In this work we report the effect of incorporating conducting oligophenylenes and a cobaltocene-based redox mediator on photodriven electron transfer between thioglycolic acid (TGA) capped CdS nanorods (NR) and the native nitrogenase MoFe protein (MoFeP) by following the reduction of H to H. First, we demonstrate that the addition of benzidine-a conductive diphenylene- to TGA-CdS and MoFeP increased catalytic activity by up to 3-fold as compared to CdS-MoFeP alone. In addition, in comparing the use of oligophenylenes composed of one (-phenylenediamine), two (benzidine) or three (4,4''-diamino--terphenyl)phenylene groups, the largest gain in H was observed with the addition of benzidine and the lowest with phenylenediamine.
