Background: Children born very preterm (VPT; <32 weeks) are at increased risk of executive functioning (EF) difficulties. But less is known about the nature and extent of these executive difficulties during late adolescence, particularly across multiple EF domains and in response to varying degrees of executive demand.
Methods: Using data from a prospective longitudinal study, this paper describes the EF profiles of 92 VPT and 68 full-term (FT) adolescents at age 17 years.
A significant proportion of men with prostate cancer will experience biochemical recurrence (BCR), which is characterized by an elevation in prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels after receiving treatment with curative intent. Imaging plays an important role in the management of patients with BCR. It can help identify sites of recurrence to determine the most appropriate management strategies, ranging from salvage treatment for local recurrences to systemic treatments for those with advanced, distant disease.

Background: The relationship between socioeconomic status and colorectal cancer (CRC) screening in Canada remains poorly understood. This study aims to measure and explain the extent of socioeconomic inequalities in CRC screening participation in Ontario, Canada.
Methods: This study assesses socioeconomic inequalities in CRC screening uptake in Ontario among adults aged 50 to 74 years (n=12,039) utilizing cross-sectional data from the 2017-2018 Canadian Community Health Survey (CCHS).
Objective: To evaluate the clinical performance and financial costs of breast-specific gamma imaging (BSGI) as a biopsy-reducing problem-solving strategy in patients with inconclusive diagnostic imaging findings.
Methods: A retrospective analysis of all patients for whom BSGI was utilized for inconclusive imaging findings following complete diagnostic mammographic and sonographic evaluation between January 2013 and December 2018 was performed. Positive BSGI findings were correlated and biopsied with either US or stereotactic technique with confirmation by clip location and pathology.
Objective: Healthcare consumers and providers are increasingly turning to digital solutions, such as curated websites. Knowing who accesses/benefits from these may improve design and development. This study investigated website usage of informal caregivers of people with multiple sclerosis and shifts in outcome plausibly associated with usage.

Methods: We completed two retrospective cohort studies using administrative health data for older adults (66+) in Ontario (n = 428,852) and Québec (n = 310,198) who were rostered with a family physician (FP) between the 2001/02 and 2017/18 fiscal years. We generated matched comparison groups of older adults rostered to an FP practicing in a team-based model, and older adults rostered to an FP in a non-team model.
Purpose: The purpose of this investigation was to assess the effect of visceral adipose tissue volume (VA) on reader efficacy in diagnosing and characterizing small bowel Crohn's disease using lower exposure CT enterography (CTE). Secondarily, we investigated the effect of lower exposure and VA on reader diagnostic confidence.
Methods: Prospective paired investigation of 256 CTE, 129 with Crohn's disease, were reconstructed at 100% and simulated 50% and 30% exposure.
The blood-brain barrier (BBB) is a unique and selective feature of the central nervous system's vasculature. BBB dysfunction has been observed as an early sign of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) before the onset of dementia or neurodegeneration. The intricate relationship between the BBB and the pathogenesis of AD, especially in the context of neurovascular coupling and the overlap of pathophysiology in neurodegenerative and cerebrovascular diseases, underscores the urgency to understand the BBB's role more deeply.

Aim: Very preterm (VPT) birth is a known early vulnerability factor, impacting both physical and mental health over the life-span. The additional burden of psychiatric illness in VPT adolescents is likely to adversely affect critical developmental tasks and personal, social and academic/vocational trajectories. Our aim was to examine the magnitude and extent of the risk of psychological burden by determining the prevalence of psychiatric disorders in our prospectively followed-up VPT and full-term (FT) control cohorts, in this period of developmental transition at age 17 years.

HTL0041178 (), a potent GPR52 agonist with a promising pharmacokinetic profile and exhibiting oral activity in preclinical models, has been identified. This molecule was the outcome of a judicious molecular property-based optimization approach, focusing on balancing potency against metabolic stability, solubility, permeability, and P-gp efflux.

Team-based primary care may support improved medication management for older adults with polypharmacy and multiple points of contact with the healthcare system. However, little is known about this association.

Falls are a significant cause of disability internationally. The purpose of this exploratory study was to examine the effectiveness of a community fall prevention program, Stepping On (SO), using nine student physical therapists and program faculty in a rural setting. A mixed-methods design was utilized.

Objective: To evaluate the epidemiology and population trends of early-onset sepsis in very preterm neonates admitted to neonatal intensive care units (NICU) in Australia and New Zealand.
Design: Retrospective observational cohort study using a dual-nation registry database.
Setting: 29 NICUs that have contributed to the Australian and New Zealand Neonatal Network.
Caring for a child born preterm places significant emotional and financial burdens on family relationships. This paper examines (a) the extent to which children born very and extremely preterm are more likely to experience parental change/caregiver instability than children born full term, (b) predictors of parental change/s for preterm infants, and (c) whether exposure to parental change/caregiver instability increases child neurodevelopmental risk. Data were collected as part of a prospective longitudinal study of 110 very preterm and 113 full-term born infants and their parents studied from birth to corrected age 12 years.

However, it is associated with manifold adverse outcomes, including neurocognitive dysfunction and mortality. This review seeks to analyze the relationship between DHCA duration and clinical outcome, and evaluate the controversies and limitations surrounding its use.

There is a lack of consensus over whether pre-emptive TEVAR should be carried out in patients with un-TBAD at risk of progression to complicated TBAD. We present a review of current evidence and seek to suggest criteria where endovascular intervention in un-TBAD may prove beneficial relative to pharmacotherapy alone.
