Introduction: TB remains one of the leading causes of death in Nigeria, and despite progress in treatment coverage, a 56% gap in national case notifications remains. This gap is attributable in part to underdiagnosis due to missed cases in health facilities. The TB Surge intervention presented an opportunity to address barriers to optimal case detection in public health facilities.

Heart transplantation and ventricular assist device (VAD) implantation are the definitive therapies for end stage heart disease, although transplantation appears to offer superior long-term survival and quality of life over VAD implantation. View Article and Find Full Text PDFIntroduction: On 25 August 2020, 29 British Forces Brunei (BFB) service personnel were hospitalised after being struck by lightning during a company-level training exercise in the Brunei jungle. This paper observes both the initial injury pattern of the personnel and their occupational health status at the 22-month point.
Method: All 29 of the personnel affected by the lightning strike on 25 August 2020 were followed up until the 22-month point, allowing observation of injury patterns and management as well as the long-term outcomes.
Concussion diagnosis is difficult and may be improved with the addition of a blood-based biomarker that indicates concussion. The purpose of this research was to investigate the capability of serum amyloid beta precursor protein (APP), neurofilament light (NfL), and visinin-like protein-1 (VILIP-1) to distinguish athletes who were diagnosed with a concussion pitch-side. An observational cross-sectional study design was used to replicate sideline concussion diagnosis.

This study aimed to objectively review the extent and nature of the teaching of planetary health and sustainability topics in UK medical education.
Methods: A multi-centre national review of the timetabled teaching sessions in medical courses in the UK during the academic year 2020/2021 against the General Medical Council's adopted 'Educating for Sustainable Healthcare - Priority Learning Outcomes'.
A public course has been initiated in 1990 in Mauritius for covering the national growing needs of public health specialists. This training course was organized jointly by the Ministry of Health, the University of Bordeaux II and the French Cooperation. After 3 sessions dedicated specifically to the Mauritian physicians, the course has been re-designed for the needs of the other countries of the region.

A hypothesis is given of the physical principles upon which the operation of this technique is based and it is shown that a calibrated analysis of both the static and dynamic distribution of pressure under the foot is possible by this technique.
